Hello!

Whenever we have friends very over I throw together a quick apple Crumble but I’m after some other easy desserts that both kids and adults would enjoy!

  • Nice to read all the different idea’s.
We like apple crumble as well, or we stick an apple or a pear in a coat of puff pastry together with some nuts, raisons and spices. Or sometimes I take some apple or pine apple rings, coat them in a batter and deep fry them in oil.
Some other favourite’s are chocolate avocado mousse, chocolate fruit fondue, cheese cake, frozen blended fruits with coconut cream poured into iceblock molds, mango-mascorpone mousse presented with homebaked seeded puff-pastry sticks and not to forget the all time favourite of my kids: natural greek yoghurt with muesli and cinnamon or Jalna vanilla yoghurt with fresh fruits and raw chocolate.

  • I love a good golden syrup dumplings in the slow cooker! cooks away while you are getting everything done and makes the house smell amazing!

  • I always freeze bananas when they are cheap and ripe. Use them in this recipe to delight both grown-ups and kids: https://mouthsofmums.com.au/recipe/banana-soft-serve/

  • I love to whip together some healthy nice-cream pops! I get a tin of coconut cream, together with a cup of frozen berries and a teaspoon of honey and blend together until smooth. Then I freeze them in icecream molds. Super easy and super delicious!

  • mum used to make us hot custard with home made apple pie (make earlier)
buy the frozen pies when they are half price

  • Eton mess is always an easy one. Berries or stone fruit cut up, whipped cream and crushed meringues. I cheat and get a box of mini ones at the supermarket in the bread aisle. I usually top it off with a dusting of icing sugar and some passionfruit. Mmm I’m hungry now!

  • Have you tried microwave chocolate pudding/cake

    So good,
    All you need is
    An egg
    A 1/4 cup flour
    3Tbs chocolate/milo
2TBs brown sugar or normal sugar

Mix it all together zap it for 45sec and down.

I don’t measure l just add it in a mug stir and zap.
Add ice cream and perfect easy quick

  • My grandkids love my lime jelly with diced fruit set in it & either yoghurt or icecream . Adults enjoy it too!

  • I’m loving the easy yummy dessert ideas! With a toddler I need something that is quick and simple. Thanks for the suggestions :)

  • MY mum use to cook us a 2,4,6,8 Pudding it has Butter, milk, s r Flour and sugar mix together and cook Once cooked spread with yummy jam and sprinkle a little coconut on top… And eat with cream, custard or ice cream… Its really yummy..

  • You can make a quick chocolate mousse by whipping cream and adding melted chocolate to it. Once combined let it set for at least an hour

  • I discovered coconut panacotta its so easy to make and tastes delicious.

  • Trifle and cheesecake are desserts that can be made ahead of time and everyone seems to like these desserts.

  • TRy bread and butter pudding . I think anything with custard/ eggs are quite easy and ingredients are normally in the kitchen anyway . What about a mixed fruit salad with icecream ? Cut up fruits, mix it and they can serve themselves .

  • I make a quick batch of chocolate truffles (rum balls without the rum) and always a winner with the kids.

  • 1) Vary your crumble… Try rhubarb or apricots instead of apple; or change the topping by using oats instead of flour. 2) Do natural greek youghart and soft fruits – like banana or strawberry, apricot or even mandarin segments work well. 3) Baked apples – take the core out, stuff with sultanas, put in microwave for 1 minute and eat with custard/youghart.

  • Yoghurt, frozen custard, biscuits, cakes, fruit salad, chocolate mousse, jelly, are all good desserts, though some of them are a bit “treaty” – ie you wouldn’t want to serve them every day.

  • For a super quick dessert I pop some berries (can be frozen) on a square of puff pastry and pop it in the oven. Easy!

  • My daughter in law makes a cheats chocolate mousse. She whips some cream up and stirs through melted (and cooled) chocolate. It is tastier then it sounds

  • We like baked apples (half peel, core and fill with sultanas, top with sugar and almond meal) serve with cream and/or ice cream
