Hello!

I just turned 28 years old and have a 8 yr old daughter, 6 year old daughter, and a 4 year old son. My husband and I have been thinking for the past 3 weeks we want to try for baby number 4. We’ve been feeling like our family isn’t yet complete. That being said, I’m looking for some personal been there done that advice! I was so much younger having my other three and only 2 years apart. What can I expect going through pregnancy at 28 years old (almost to my 30s) and how was the change with your body if you waited 4 or more years between pregnancies? Thank you in advance

  • I would say there would be no issues. If anything, you’ve given your body the extra time to fully recover from the last pregnancy. 28 is no where near old, I’m perplexed that you’re even questioning another baby. Just do it!

  • if you want another child it is the best time you can do go for it

  • I don’t think age 28 is considered old to be having babies. You started young and are still young, so I see no major hazards with another pregnancy. 4 kids will keep you busy!

  • At 28 you’re still on the young side of life, if you were 38 you’d be asking questions but be still considered fit for duty! Personally I also think if you have more than two kids you may as well have 6! The older ones are a great help, especially when they hit around 8 or 9!

  • My kids are 10, 4 and 6months. I
had our newest addition at 28. It was the easiest of all pregnancies, he’s an absolute dream baby and he’s fitted in so well. I think the more kids you have the lower your expectations are! You’ll never regret the kids you have, only the ones you don’t. I say Go for it!

  • If you want it, just go for it. There’s never a perfect time or age but you adapt and will become your new norm, and won’t look back. I’m 29 and just had my second and love being a mummy to a little one again.

  • I was about that age when I had my second child. I found that I felt quite tired trying to keep up with my then 2.5 year old. I usually suffer from low iron too. I ended up having a difficult labor because he was stuck, and I had an emergency C section. That being said, I don’t think age played a factor in this. 28 is still quite young and my body was fine, I was even able to not gain a lot of weight and I bounced right back after the birth.

  • Lol, I was 40 when I had my first, 28yrs is not old at all !! When you both feel for it I would say GO FOR IT !

  • Considering a lot of people don’t start having kids until into their 30’s I think you are still in a good position. Given your kids are older – they will be very helpful I’m sure

  • We have a 16 year old, a six year old and a two year old and personally I think if you have anymore than two kids they may has well have ten! (Seriously though, one more is no extra work and you’re practically a pro by now). Also, with those ages you’ll have a wonderful team of support siblings! In terms of your age, as long as you are healthy and continue to stay active during your pregnancy you should have no issues at all!

  • The best is talk to your gp

  • 28 isn’t so old! You just might not bounce back as quickly but given you won’t have other little ones to look after as your kids are older you will have more time for you and bubs this time round
