Hello!

My 1 year old has the driest lips – they get worse after a sleep (sleeps with mouth open) and they often end up so cracked they bleed. I chase him around with balms all day and put them on his lips, but nothing seems quite strong enough to stay on and fix the problem. He’s always dribbling which I think not only makes them dry, but also means any products applied don’t last on long! What can I use on my baby’s dry lips?

  • How about all natural paw paw?
What I do is I put it on and then my little one loves copying me or I smack my lips and he loves copying that but he only only does that after I apply paw paw cream.

  • I would suggest vaseline re-applied regularly.

  • Poor bubba, plain old Vaseline is a great barrier – apply lightly and it will really help

  • paw paw ointment is amazing for many problems, dry lips being one. It’s an all natural product too, so fine to use on bub

  • Paw Paw ointment may work, bub may need extra water during the day too to stay hydrated

  • Try some Vaseline. :) worked a treat for my boy.

  • I know this in an old post (thought someone might reference it) and I am not sure if anyone has suggested it but lansinoh is an awesome product for this kind of thing and cracked nipples.

  • some paw paw ointment will help, but nothing is going to stay put, but will help a little

  • we used lip balm by paw paw

  • I would get some Benpathen as this is safe if he eats it but as the consistency is thick it doesnt wear off easily

  • last time when i went near pharmacist with the same problem for my daughter they have given me vaseline.i apply paw paw mostly.if it is very dry and bleed i use vaseline for my baby.

  • blistex lip conditioner would be good

  • Try Benpathen …. if he licks this off there is no harm … try when he is asleep. Get him to sit on your knee and massage it in a little bit … go to Doc to find out about the dribbling

  • you may just have to keep re applying

  • Hope some of the suggestions below were helpful.

  • how did it go? :)

  • What did you end up using?

  • Maybe one of the body shop balms would be good

  • I really feel for your baby, and I do hope you find something that helps

  • Paw Paw cream is great for baby lips
