Hello!

People always say fruit is the best snack for children yet there must be other things on the market

  • popcorn, I went to a nutritionist a while ago and she said she has popcorn as her go to snack, my kids love it, we get lightly salted or plain little packets, they also love cheese and biscuits or cheese sticks, muesli bars or home made bikkies!

  • If they ever get sick of just fruit, try whipping it up into smoothies. Add milk and Greek yoghurt plus a few veggies. Yummy

  • forgot to add A friend of mine also freezes fruit bananas, water melon. kiwi fruit and grapes…on a skewer the kids love it on hot days…

  • dip and crackers, my youngest has just gone crazy on a beetroot feta and cashew..by red rock deli he loves it.. and i dont mind that he has its as it has more goodness in it then a lot of other dips on the market..

  • Granola bars
    Crackers and dip
    Bliss balls
    Popcorn
    Fruit filled bars
    Cruskits with jam, Peanut butter

  • In summer my lot love fruit/veggie smoothies and ice blocks made from fruit and veggies. They help make them and have the fun of eating/drinking them.

  • Veggie sticks and hommus dip. I’ve even thinly sliced some veggies and baked them to make healthy chips. Muffins are also good. You can do different sizes and so many different flavour twists

  • I love making jelly cupcakes. 2C flour, 1tbs butter, 2 eggs, 1 packet jelly crystals, 1C milk. Best snacks ever.

  • Cheese and crackers, carrot and celery slices, ham, yogurt, homemade muffins and slices

  • I make double batches of things like scones, bikkies, slices and muffins to keep in the freezer as some of my go to snacks for the kids. I usually couple one baked item with some fruit at snack time.

  • Pitta bread with hummus, cucumber sticks, rice crackers, I struggle to stay motivated at snack time so this thread has given me some new ideas !

  • I’m a fan of cheese such as real cheese and water crackers and even the cheese stringer types of snack or baby bels. My kids love them.

  • Vegetable omelettes
    Savoury pancakes
    Home made fried rice

  • I forgot about boiled eggs and dried roasted seaweed !

  • I like to mix it up yoghurt, cheese sticks, savoury muffins, or fruit muffins eg blueberry

  • Pack of Mini 3 Avocado and Humous dips from Coles with Cruskits
    Salted Popcorn
    Fruit filled bars
    Trail mix
    Cheese and crackers

  • I also bake savoury and sweet treats and also place them in little packs.

  • My daughter has hommus with water crackers, rice crackers with peanut butter or cream cheese, sultanas, cruskits, cheese, pretzels, greek yoghurt, dried fruit, homemade mini healthy muffins

  • Little homemade tubs with cheese and crackers and other sweet and savoury nibbles – a bit like your own version of a pick n mix tub.

  • My older daughter loves those squeezy yoghurts. They have plenty of flavours and some with veggies as well as fruit. Popcorn is always a hit, too. Carrots sometimes, and of course fruit. They change what they like, too, so it can get tricky finding something for everyone.
