A mum I know took her son to see a paediatrician because he wasn’t sleeping. He prescribed melatonin, just a couple of drops about an hour before bedtime and her little boy is now sleeping nearly 12 hours a night
Can you give a description of the total amount of sleep during 24hours and your toddlers daily and nightly routine ? When your toddler doesn’t sleep more then a total of 4 hours during 24 hours, I would suggest to go to the GP.
Are they still having night feeds or being fed to sleep? It’s all in training them. Try giving a feed before dinner if you’re still feeding milk and no more after that. Put them into bed awake and allow to fall asleep on their own in their own bed. This may take time and you may have to go in and soothe a few times but avoid picking them up. If they wake up send your partner in with a baby bottle of water and don’t offer milk. They will soon learn that they don’t need milk for comfort or to fall asleep and should learn over a few weeks to self soothe and go back to sleep.
