I’ve had this problem on and off but mostly in my teen years and I found the best was steam from putting really hot water in a bowl put a towel over your head and try and stay in under the towel as long as you can until you have to have a breather keep the towel over the bowel to keep the steam in. Then go back into doing the steam again and again stay as long as you can before coming out for a breath when you’ve had enough then with the towel rub where you have the blackheads look in a mirror and you might see some sticking out of the pores try and grab them with tweezers and go into the bathroom and splash cold water over your face a few times and pat dry. You can repeat again in few days and it will help but remember the cold water as that closes the pores.

This advice is going back many years, times have changed, but we used to steam the face over a bowl of hot water. Then have a shower and cleanse the skin with anti acne wash. End with a cool rinse

I gently squeeze any larger blackheads after a nice hot shower. I also use St Ives apricot scrub from Priceline, it’s nice and coarse and ‘scrubby’ and will do the trick to keep all the nasty dead skin cells at bay which lead to blackheads. Just use it every 2nd or 3rd day. Of course you still need to moisturise.

Sounds like you need a good exfoliator. Use it every 2-3 days and your blackheads and pores will be a lot cleaner and even smaller.

Head over a bowl of hot water, gently squeeze blackheads. Then splash with cool water to close the pores

Get a good facial scrub – there’s an apricot one from priceline (St Ives brand I think). Cleanse, tone, moisturise and drink lots of water. Pores can get bigger as we age and once blocked they tend to always be blocked to some extent. I also like biore nose strips from woollies – the pull the blackheads out.

Witch hazel is cheap and a great way to remove makeup and tone your skin.

This has helped me, I used it a couple times per week!

Ingredients
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon water (or enough to make a paste)
Witch Hazel Toner (to tone face afterward)

Instructions
Mix the baking soda and water to form a paste.
Splash your face a few times with warm water to open up your pores. Or wet a wash cloth with very hot water and drape it over your face until it cools down. This helps open up your pores to loosen up the dirt and impurities.
Apply the baking soda paste to your face, concentrating on the blackhead areas (usually the T-zone).
Gently massage (don’t rub too hard!) the paste into your skin to exfoliate and loosen up dead skin, blackheads, and any other dirt lurking underneath the surface.
Leave the paste on your skin for at least a minute.
Rinse off the paste with warm water.
Give your face a final splash with cold water to help restrict the pores, preventing more dirt from entering.
To help bring your skin back to its natural pH, use a little Witch Hazel Face Toner.

Apparently Half lemon with 3-4 drops of honey on the black heads. Leave the mixture on your face for 5min then wash with cold water.

Steam your face over basin with a towel over your head, then using witch hazel to tone, witch hazel Is a great toner and cleaner, it is natural and cheap, I use it several times a day when my skin is oily or during summer when it is sweaty, it helps tighten the pores as well.

Steaming your face over a bowl of hot water and a towel over your head over the basin will help open your pores to loosen the blackheads then exfoliate to remove them. Use toner (witchhazel) to then reduce your pores. This has always worked for me.

I agree with Cherz, opening the pores with steam, cleanse with a gentle facial scrub or mild soap & most importantly close the pores with cold water or a toner.

Witch hazel is a great facial toner that was recommended to me 30 years ago and I still use to this day.

I have been using masks from Montagne Jeunesse. You can buy them in a single use sachet for around $4 or in a “tottle” with aprox 10 uses for $9. Chemist Warehouse and Priceline stock them and I often see them on special or as part of a deal. They have a good range for different skin types and conditions.

1/ Steam your face to clean pores. One should follow the process of steaming once a week to clear dirt, oils and dead skin from face and nose and reduce the chances of clogged pores filled with blackheads and whiteheads. Take hot water in a bowl and let the vapours pass to skin for 10 minutes. This will soften the impurities.

2/ Use lemon juice as a facial cleanser Acid present in lemon clears deep skin impurities while vitamin C makes skin lighter. Add water to lemon juice and rub it to your face. Lemon is a very effective home remedy to get rid of large pores.

3/ Cucumber to shrink pores. Cucumber has skin lightening properties and provides a cooling sensation when applied to skin. Rub a slice of cucumber on face for 10 minutes and then cover it with cucumber paste. Cooling agents, moisture and lightening properties in cucumber will help you to fix your problem of large pores.

Good question, my pores seem to be looking bigger as I get older and I’m not doing anything differently. :/

Pores Strips are commonly available at Reject Shops. You could use plain sticky tape across your nose or problem area to lift black pores. I know that works. So does clear adhesive plastic book cover cut to size works well lifting dirty pores. To keep pores clean use mild soap Goat Soap) and a nylon bath sponge daily. Rub lightly.
