Hello!

Each time someone is bathing my 4 year old and soap touches his penis, he holds his penis and cries that it is paining. Can baby soap really pain in a penis or is it something else?

  • I’d say a trip to the dr would be necessary. Might be eczema, might be something else. Hope it gets sorted!

  • I would not think this is real pain unless he has a small scratch on his penis.

  • More investigation is needed to find out what is causing him pain.

  • An old question. I hope you found a solution to the problem

  • I am concerned you have let this go on more than once! Take your son to the doctor for goodness sake!

  • Take him to the doctor or childhood centre for a checkup and stop using soap as it is too harsh for babys skin .

  • Umm, go to the Doctors! Also, don’t use soap – put a bath oil in the bath… way better and gentler on kids skin x

  • If the soap has gone inside, then it may sting. But I would sit him down away from the bath and have a gentle conversation with him.

  • I’m thinking it’s maybe something else that is aggravated by the soap or contact of the person doing the soaping. Needs some more investigation I think

  • hello glad he is better did they say what caused it? for some reason my baby boy 14 month old always touches his and looks in pain but after going to 5 gps none can tell me the problem?

  • He is 4 ask him why he feels like that why he is doing it.

  • Maybe sensitive skin however it doesn’t make sense if it’s ok around that area. I hope you work it out!

  • Glad you sorted out this problem; always be careful with body products anyway; some contain lots of nasty chemicals.

  • Pleased that you have been able to sort the probelm

  • Glad to hear you got advice from your GP. We like to use sensitive skin products on our bodies. Some soap can burn skin.

  • Pleased your son is fine now.

  • good to hear that all is well.

  • Good to hear your son has improved, always good hearing about happy endings.

  • My boy is very fine now, thank you.

  • When? Now that the Dr. has done his follow-up, and he is no longer manifesting any malaise?
