Hello!

I have recently found out I can’t have gluten but love avo, feta and tomato on toast. I would love to know what your favourite bread is or even recipe as this is all very new to me and not sure which brands are better than the others.

  • I buy either Woolworths or Coles seeded gluten free bread. Recently Woolworths has changed their recipe and we don’t think it’s as good anymore. We now prefer Coles seeded glutenfree bread

  • Both my kids have coeliac and by far they love the Woolworths ‘Free From’ loaf. It’s bigger and they say tastes heaps better. We even travel to stock up on it because our local store doesn’t stock it (and we’ve requested them to multiple times).

  • It’s not bread but I love the mountain brand rice wraps

  • burgens is my fav gluten free bread

  • Honestly I’d start trying to make my own!

  • I make my own with a bread maker!

  • I’m not gluten intolerant but I occasionally eat gluten free bread. I quite don’t mind the Woolworths “free from gluten” white or seeded bread. It’s dense and tastes great toasted with butter. And it’s not so bland and cardboard like in texture compared to others I have tried in the past!

  • The Woolies brand was actually pretty good, and one of the cheaper options

  • ‘I’m free from” range at Coles. I get this when my son’s girlfriend comes over as it’s the one she prefers.

  • I used to like Woolworths own brand gluten free bread (Coles second), until I discovered that the non-gluten starches and flours were also problematic. Now I have to bake my own using high protein low starch ingredients: almond flour and ground flaxseed are the staples in the recipe (with eggs, water, oil etc). Depending why you are going gluten free you need to be careful.A big reason to avoid gluten is lectins but tomatoes also have lectins; and these are damaging to the stomach also, especially if you are dealing with any autoimmune issues. There are loads of keto and paelo recipes that are gluten free (and which also avoid other potentially harmful grains).

  • Try to make your own or buy a bread maker! youll never look back

  • I think it’s all about personal taste, buying and trying to see what you like. What is yum to some is yuck to others

  • I like the Abbot’s soy & linseed gluten free bread just from coles

  • I really like the Tip Top gluten free bread and the Helgas gluten free bread.
