Rectangular tables are the best

i think sometimes big square ones make people opposite each other too far apart for good chatting and also reaching foods in the middle of the table. If it fits better in the house though, that needs to be considered.

We have a rectangular one it seats 6 and we love it. Have moved a few times with it and we always manage to fit it

It really depends on the shape of your room, but I prefer rectangular tables. I have an oval table and don’t like it. My next table will be rectangular.

I think both are great for different reasons. I like rectangular tables as it’s easier to fit everyone in our house with that shape but my mum has a square one and it’s easier to talk to everyone around a square table.

depends on your area that you want the table in. are your kids likely to run into it on the way out the door etc? maybe sharp corners aren’t good for that spot then.. see what you like in store.

I think it depends on the shape of the room . Our dining room is a wide and sits at the back of the house and we have a 6 seater oblong table. ( has the round ends ). The round edges gives it a bit of style I think and we have had it for over 20 years since we moved in . It is made from pine wood so it also depends on material as some looks better square than round . Good luck.

I love all sizes and shapes of tables and all in wood and we have a big rectangular table.

We have a six seater retangular table which can be extended to 10 seater. I prefer rectangular but it depends on the shape of your dining room.

I’ve got a rectangular one. Oval ones are nice too.

It depends a lot on your space, We have an oval and find that excellent as you can seat people around the corners if need be. Have you considered a square that is extendable?
