I don’t see how a court would allow this to happen. I agree with everyone else here. I would absolutely be seeking legal advice. Read the court order and learn everything about it backward and forwards. Maybe there’s a loophole, But he’s in jail. It’s so dangerous to allow him access to a little child in a place where a lot of people are in there fir crimes against children.

I am so sorry your going through this. I can’t believe a court would allow someone who barely knows your 2 year old at all to take him for visitation at a prison that just seems so wrong to me. Is there any way you can apply to get this changed?

Um this doesn’t seem right. The father of my child is in prison and first, there’s no way I would take my 21 month old to a prison. Other prisoners do not need to identify my child or myself. It’s a risk to everyone’s welfare and a point of leverage. I would be seeking legal advice ASAP and a second opinion of need be. Remember legal aid and most lawyers provide an initial free 30 minutes. I would consider simply refusing the other woman access. U cannot see police enforcing it with her and the ex cannot do anything. Let the courts do it. By the time that occurs, he may be out of prison.

At two your son is quite vulnerable, and I would not be happy with this arrangement at all. I can understand that the court may have ordered twice a month visits when your ex was at home, but have you advised the court that he is now in prison and you are worried about your child visiting now that this has occurred. I just can’t imagine a court would force you to hand over your child to a stranger in these circumstances.

I can’t understand how this has come about. How are you expected to hand your child over to a virtual stranger at such a young age. I would be getting help on how to handle this situation, to fight it, legally or starting with a social worker. This is not right.

That sounds really hard. It might help to set clear boundaries with her and talk to a lawyer if you’re worried. If the visits are a concern, you could ask the court for advice to make sure your child is okay.

I am stunned that the court ordered that she take him when she has only known your partner for 4 months and in that time how much time would she have spent with your son. Were you not able to dispute this? Im afraid i would have been saying no way was my child going anywhere with a virtual stranger.

Do you have the option to take your child for the visits? I would hate the idea of someone taking my child anywhere when they have only been in the other parents life such a short amount of time

This situation doesn’t sound or sit right with me. I wouldn’t want another person taking my 2 year old to a prison to see their father, this should be something that you do. Is there away you can get this changed and is it really a good idea to be taking a 2 year old to a prison.

I was just wondering why you are not taking your child to see you ex instead of the girlfriend. I am not sure I would be letting my 2 year old be taken by someone that I barely know. Maybe meet her there and let her take the child inside if you do not want to see your ex.
