My sister in law gave me lots of onesies that I found very useful once baby was born.

A pregnancy pillow! That really helped me sleep on my side whilst supporting my back and hips, absolutely heavenly!

A jumbo size Baby blanket which i still have beautiful fluffy and cozy still

Bio oil. It’s great for preventing stretch marks.

Generally just getting a few baby clothes here and there were really awesome

A bag of nappies. Very handy.

My mother gave my unborn baby girl a gold bracelet with a blue bird on it and my daughters name engraved on it, it was the exact same bracelet that my grandmother gave me as a baby, it’s like a family tradition that we have started, if my daughter ever has a daughter I will do the same for her.

Probably the photos of growing bub from our ultrasound appointments! 😀 In terms of material gifts, it would have to be all the practical ones that we couldn\’t do without – car seat, a pram, baby bouncer, baby clothes (we didn\’t have to buy many clothes at all for ages).

Mum bought me a bassinet. I was shocked to get something so big from her

I wouldn’t call it a gift but I had someone come and clean my home twice a week for 8 weeks after I had a traumatic birth with my daughter and it was the most help I could have imagined! I know now that this will be my top pick for a mum gift in the future!

for the baby nappies in infant size. I already had plenty of newborn nappies so it was nice to have some of the next size up.

A gift voucher for me to use on me. You always receive things for the baby which is great as it helps you out money wise but its great to get something for you as well.

voucher for hot meals and cleaning when the baby was born! (you need to have great friends who would honour them in later though).

A pregnancy massage! relieved my back oh so much!

Spikey ball – you get them from physiotherapists – they are a hard ball with spikes (moulded) and you put them on your back (where you are sore) and stand up against the wall & massage yourself – they are amazing. I slept with mine too, often using it on pressure points. I often buy one for friends along with the $3.50 kmart pj pants (you want loose disposable pants in hospital) and panty liners – as you need them towards the end of pregnancy.

The actual conclusive announcement from the doctor that I was indeed pregnant was the best gift hubby and I could have ever received and joy oh joy more than once. 🙂
