Lots of water, then an extra huge bottle on top of that. An extra tarp and rope, just in case. Duct tape in case your blow up mattress gets a hole. Plenty of insect repellant and sunscreen. Extra batteries for torches. And a mobile phone charger that can plug into the car if you’re going to an unpowered site.

I would suggest a caravan! Sorry, but I’m not a fan of camping in a tent in the great outdoors

If you can purchase a large esky that has a tap and fill it with water (large water cooler), its a must, especially if the place you’re going has no tap nearby. You can usually purchase one in bunnings.

Heaps of changes of clothes! And sandles for rock pools. Mosquito coils

Turns out i overpacked on everything except lots of spare clothes which is what we needed for the kids.

Got jumbo marshmallows. Cant wait to show my girls how to cook them. Ive just packed a first aid box and will grab some colouring books and pencils.

Lots of snacks and colouring books. Definitely a hot water bottle for at night if you are going anywhere that its even close to chilly.

Fold up chairs or something that young children can sit on. I think a really important thing to take is a basic first-aide kit that includes something that can helps with bites and itchness from bugs, insects or plants. Make sure you have a small book and pencil in it so you can recall what that thing that bite someone was if needed later on.

If its cold thermals for sure!
I didn’t really take anything extra for my kids, just the basics really.

ohhh and lots of marshmallows haha!
