Hello!

I’m having my second in October and wanting to find ways to get through the stressful/tired moments. One I found is having a thermo with hot water in the room ready to make milk in the middle of the night without waiting for the kettle!

  • Bulk cook and freeze meals/snacks in advance

  • Expect no sleep at all. That way when you do get some it’s unexpected and a luxury! Also make sure you have an easily accessible fully stocked change table ready with all the necessities.

  • Do you have anybody who can have your first child for a few hours or sleepovers one or two days a week – if anybody offers more accept it if you can. Try to do other things while the washing machine is working. It could be working while you are doing your dishes or feeding your baby or initial preparation of a meal. Try to cook double batches so you have a spare meal – either for the next day or freeze it for later use. If somebody offers to help if you want to accept it, even hanging out the washing and/or bringing it in. Maybe get them to sort the clean clothes into stacks for different rooms / people. I found that helps a lot. If both the children have a sleep at the same time have a rest at the same time. Even if it’s only 1/2 hour it relaxes your muscles – suggestion I was given by Dr.
