As they’re out of date, the charities might not want them either. I know the Salvos accept food donations

I agree with Mission Australia. There might be a soup kitchen in your local area too.

I would ring up Mission Australia as they look after the homeless needs

out of date= bin sadly

I see alot of pantry clean outs on my local buy swap and sell site on facebook. They ask to see a concession card so they know they are in need

Could deliver them to a Salvos or some charity or even a woman’s shelter ,sure they be grateful

I would not donate out of date food. if I wouldn’t eat it, then I would throw it out

Personally if these items are out of date and your family will not eat them, I feel you should not hope any one else would want to eat them. Out of date and past it’s use by is dangerous.

Are the canes labelled “best before” or…….” use by”? Best Before is a guide only.
It depends how far over the date they are. Contact the Salvos, Vinnies, Anglicare and other places which distribute food. Be prepared to dispose of unacceptable food yourself. If the tims are showing any change of colour on joins or signs of expansion they are definitely not safe for use. If they are “ballooning” keep them in a cool place until the day the bin goes or you may have an awful mess to clean up.

Although out of date foods are quite edible, I doubt very much that a charity or a food bank would take them.

Salvos/vinnies etc will take tinned food around Christmas time however if they are out of date and not good enough for your family, they can’t be given to the homeless or charity. You need to throw them away, if you were to donate them then the charity would have to throw them out and a lot of the money donated to them ends up being used so they can do as such. Food harvest will get surplus food from restaurants etc however they are liable for food poisoning etc. Coles throw out seafood daily as it cannot be donated.

they won’t be able to use out of date tins sadly – so I would suggest throw them in the bin
