When does the gag reflex subside in infants?

Hello!

My 7mth old girl gags a lot when eating finger food and eats only small amounts of purées. She is very interested in finger foods but gags when pieces break off.

the gag reflex is very important as that is what will help stop them choking. maybe have a look at the size of the food or type you are giving

Usually when they start to eat solids regularly. It’s a good thing so don’t wish it away too soon

It should kick in soon. Don’t be surprised if it continues fir a while. Don’t stop the finger foods tho
