if you’ve boiled it correctly the best place would be a dark spot at the back of your pantry. usually the longer it sits the better it gets

I’ve never made my own. My mother in law used to hang them in their boiling cloth on her front and back verandas. For months before Xmas. And they were delicious

I always make my pud in October and store in the pantry or in our wardrobe (the smell is amazing!) I’ve only ever put the pudding in the fridge once and that’s because I made 2 that year for some reason and we only ate one. The other stayed in the fridge for about 6 months before it was eaten and was it amazing!

Hang it in a cool dry place, so that it is not actually touching anything, my mother if she wants to store for extended length of time, like 12 mnths etc, she will wrap in glad wrap, plastic bags, etc and place in deep freeze, take out a few days before and hang It to defrost then boil as per normal to complete cooking, and these are just like freshly made. I have had them that have been frozen for 5 years and they are fine, I think that most of the ingredients are things that last forever anyway so they store well,

My mother in law has kept one for ten years hanging in the kitchen. One day we heard some shuffling downstairs and thought someone was breaking in, my brother in law grabbed the pudding to use as a weapon as it is as hard as a brick. Sorry just had to share

My mil hangs them in her garage. They look disgusting and get mouldy and vile. But apparently they are fine. She boiled up one nasty looking specimen on Boxing Day.

My pudding is steamed; so wrapped and up high in a cool dry place; top shelf in pantry.

Mum has always been the pudding makes in our family and has made various ones over the years but when done in cloth she hangs in the pantry from memory. They are effectively a fruit cake which is normally stored in the pantry.

In a cool, dry place is fine. I store mine in the back of the pantry and then in the fridge when cut.

Definitely in the fridge.I store mine on the bottom shelf away from flavoursome items as you don’t want a flavour transfusion. Enjoy your pudding and Merry Christmas.
