Hello!

I got heaps from garage sales today. I got an electric food steamer, brand new electric can opener, seven cushions with price tags on, a dinosaur egg night light, a bedside lamp, various wall sayings, a pair of mini football boots, a pair of pyjamas with monkeys on with price tags on, and more. Most of these items were only $1.00 each except for the pyjamas. Ohh and a brand new Harry Potter wall picture for my downs syndrome cousin, a tigger for the kids wall, a door closer.

  • I don’t get much chance to go to these anymore (pre-pandemic, I mean) – but I love to browse books in particular. At markets I look more for crafts.

  • There are certainly lots of bargains to be found at garage sales and markets. A lot to buy that doesn’t get used though, so you need to be careful

  • I love markets, not so much garage sales. Just love the vibes

  • I love it when you get something great with the price tag on and it fits perfect and you pay a few dollars!

  • We enjoy browsing at Paddys etc and you are lucky to get those because with garage sales normally they start early and all the good items are gone by afternoon . I don’t buy clothes there as last time I bought a simple shirt and it fell apart within days and skip the toys and electricals at markets because there is no warranty even though they say yes . We have bought plants in the past and all have been good .

  • Gosh, how successful are you at garage sales?! I like to check out local ones and often find some treasures. There’s also so some rubbish, but they’re worth checking out

  • love them! so many bargins. even op shop is good

  • I love garage sales! I have picked up brand new furniture, clothing, gifts ready to go that people didn’t want….just about everything! Social media plays a big part. My local area and surrounds have a facebook group that is a constant garage sale. People upload items and then someone purchases the item and comes and picks it up. It is run by admin with rules and not only have I picked up items but I have sold lots too! Great fun and might be worth looking into to see if there is one set up in your area!

  • What a great haul – well done! I love garage sales, op shops and markets – always on the look out for a bargain – you never know what you’ll find! “One man’s junk, is another man’s treasure” so they say, and they’re right!

  • Yes! I love, love, love them! Garage sales, markets and op shops :) I’ve found some real treasures over the years – though admittedly, my best finds have been in op shops. Antique silver spoons, genuine Chanel and Pucci, you name it – I’ve probably found it. So, yep – I’m definitely a fan.

  • WOW you really did have some wonderful finds. I also love garage sales but hubby is swaying more to swap meets, we have not long come back from Ballarat, two really long days picking at the swap and a week away but fun. Today we went to our local markets, not very much there but I did get some free range eggs for $2 a doz..a real bargain. Hubby collects Coca Cola.

  • ThEre should be more garage sales over the long weekend

  • I love markets and garage sales and holding them myself . I have recently been cleaning out my house and i have given so much to op shops there is heaps of new things that i can sell so I am putting them in a big pile for a market stall. hoping to make some extra needed money !!

  • I love garage sales! I generally get things that I probably don’t need but what a bargain!!

  • I have been to a lot of baby markets. If you have a girl and are looking for clothes up to about a size 2/3 then they are amazing. However if you have a boy they are more difficult to find good stuff. It is as always a hit or a miss as it depends on what the vendors are selling on the day.

  • I don’t go to many as I’m trying to sell lots of things myself and KNOW I’ll just but more LOL but they can be great value! I really need to have one here!

  • I’ve only been to a few. I find they are a hit and miss, but it’s so good when you can pick some stuff up in great condition especially items you can no longer get in stores.

  • It is fun shopping and getting bargains! I love it too!

  • Love garage sales. Sounds like you did really well and hit the jackpot :-) Not only can you save yourself a few bucks, you find quality items (not all this made in china crap) and by reusing you are having an impact on the environment by reducing your carbon footprint. it’s win win all around.

  • yep garage sales are where the bargins are. swap meet not as good these days. or local buy and sell.
