Hello!

So hubby and I have been together 11 year, married 3 in November and about to have our 3rd son in May we havent managed to have a honeymoon yet :( so we were thinking of doing a family holiday to Fiji. Friends of ours went this May with their 3 kids and loved it.
My kids will be 6, 5 and around 10 months old when we are thinking about going over.
Where’s the best places to stay, things to do, etc
Someone please help me out I have no idea where to start. I’ve only even been on a plane once and that was from Sydney to brissy lol!

  • I hope you’ve been by now, how was it ?

  • My daughter has been to Fiji. She took lots of photos. It’s a really pretty place, pretty much paradise to look at

  • I have nothing but excellent stories from people who have travelled there, hope you had an amazing trip!

  • We went there over 24 years ago on our honeymoon and what I remember was a beautiful relaxed place with friendly people and went to this chinese restaurant nearly everyday to eat because it was so nice . I would look up Google under tourist attractions in Fiji and see if anything has changed . I am sure you will enjoy it if you like a relaxing place for holidays .

  • Fiji is so beautiful, great holiday destination, it looks like it in the brochures anyway. Haven’t been lucky enough, or financial enough, to actually visit

  • we have heard that Fiji resorts are very family friendly and reasonably priced. Some good answers from people who have been.

  • Thanks for asking this interesting question; following the answers.

  • Ive never been there yet, but would love to

  • We have travelled to Fiji over 15 times in 7 years.
Best resorts are Hilton or Sheraton at denarau.
For an island resort the new paradise cove resort in the yassawas.
Stay away from plantation unless you like very budget.
The kids clubs are fantastic, the people lovely and the weather to die for.
We have taken our 4 kids and I fell pregnant with no 5 in Fiji last year :)

  • Interested to also read responses as we are heading off with our teenage son later this year too.

  • A lot of the big resorts are great for kids. I haven’t been but have heard from friends/family that they are great. I can’t remember names off hand but try googling Fiji resorts and check them out and see which ones are better for kids

  • We stayed at the Naviti resort. It was great!! all inclusive package. And they are FANTASTIC with kids.

  • Never been to Fiji but try getting advise from flight centres! they are always so helpful

  • tassie? or even cruises are nice!

  • There are different areas of Fiji so it depends where you want to go. If you want to go to one of the islands, Plantation Island and Castaway Island are great for families. Near Port Denerau the Radisson Fiji is fantastic, and on the Coral Coast you could try the Outrigger or the Naviti. They vary in price so your final choice may be swayed by your budget too. You can’t really eat cheaply like some Asian destinations, so maybe look at the all-inclusive meal package. Fiji is awesome and they take care of families very well. ps I’m a travel agent :)

  • My friends have been to Fiji and they told me it’s beautiful and recommended if I ever like to go trading go to Fiji. I’ve heard from friends it great and lots of activities for the children as well.

  • Apparently it is awesome especially for families. I have seen many reviews and pictures from Wyndham vacations as they have a resort. I am yet to travel anywhere apart from Australia myself will do it in the future after I see more of Australia first.

  • would love to go myself!!! I have heard of a few good kid friendly ones. Look for ones that have the kids clubs

  • Friends have taken their children for a holiday and loved it. They took a package deal and stayed at a very child friendly resort. Have a chat to a travel agent, they’ll be able to recommend the best places to stay and offer you some good advice, you could also look at reviews on travel sites. Hope you have a wonderful time.

  • Not personally but if you look in the real stories section there is a story about a holiday review and it is about a family’s trip to Fiji with children of a similar age and they describe a fantastic experience. My colleagues with two children have and they very much enjoyed their time.
