Hello!

I am weaning my daughter from S26 to cows milk (mixing at the moment) and she has been getting diarrhoea. Has anyone else had this and was it a settling in period or an allergy? My first daughter weaned to cows milk with no hassle so this is new to me! Thanks in advance.

  • It may take some time for her body to adjust to the enzyme in cow’s milk. Have you tried lactose free cow’s milk ?

  • You are not supposed to alter the mixing of formula. Even al;terring the strength of it can make a baby really sick

  • I’m pretty sure it’s just a transitioning, switching from an old milk to a new. It sometimes takes a little for the body to adjust to new food or routine. Don’t stress, it will clear

  • She may be lactose intolerant, its a pretty simple process these days to get tested, its just a breath test that your GP should be able to arrange, I’m not too sure what other types of toddler milk are available but im sure there is quite a selection around!

  • seems she may have an allergy to the cows milk whether it be the lactose, as usually cows milk binds them up. so would get it checked out put her on a toddler formula instead until you know more.

  • my son had this problem then we changed to goats milk. best change ever

  • Hope everything is settled and she is tolerating milk now.

  • transition stages can be difficult

  • how is it going now?

  • Mine went the opposite and was constipated so we are slowly moving with watered down milk now.

  • Hope she is going ok now.

  • Maybe see a doctor, it might be something else

  • How are you going with it now?

  • How is she going now – any advice work?

  • I would be looking at goats milk instead of cows, because it sounds like cows is causing the diarrhoea.

  • She might be allergic to it or having a reaction, speak with your doctor about it

  • It sounds like it could be the milk upsetting her tummy

  • If it continues it is better to see a doctor

  • Try zymil milk. They might b lactose intolerant

  • That’s an odd one I think
