Every mum wants their little one to have the best nutrition and we’ve got some simple tips to help you with that!

We all know that good nutrition is so important for healthy development at any age, and this couldn’t be more true when it comes to toddlers. Toddlers go through such a significant period of growth, so a well-balanced diet filled with essential vitamins and minerals is a must in supporting your child during this stage.

It isn’t always easy to know where to start though! There is just so much advice out there. To help make the process a little easier,  we’ve put together four easy tips for staying on top of the often complex world of toddler nutrition, in order to assist you to make the right choice for your little one each and every time.

1. Trust the Research

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, navigating toddler nutrition is tough! That’s why it’s often best to put your faith in products that have been formulated by experts. After all, they really know their stuff! Biostime 2’-FL HMO ProBOOST + Vit D is backed by the company’s twenty years of global expertise in childhood nutrition. It is also inspired by the power of both science and nature and is specifically designed for toddlers over the age of twelve months.

HMOs (Human Milk Oligosaccharides) are a unique type of prebiotic similar to that found naturally in breastmilk and are widely regarded as the most significant scientific advancement in recent years in the field of childhood nutrition1. Biostime Supplements is the first company in Australia to include HMOs in their supplements for children, with this innovative ingredient continuing to provide the key components of breastmilk to toddlers and children long after they have finished breastfeeding. It really does pay to trust a brand that is committed to creating products that incorporate the latest scientific research!

2. Choose Quality Ingredients

The last thing you want as a mum is an ingredient list that is a mile long, especially when you are trying to monitor the quality of food and supplements that you are giving to your toddler. So many products are guilty of including a range of ingredients that most parents would struggle to recognise and, let’s face it, we want to know what we are giving our kids wherever possible. Thankfully, Biostime 2’-FL HMO ProBOOST + Vit D contains no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners. How good is that?!

Thanks to its flavourless, artificial free formula, it’s also the perfect choice for fussy eaters. A product that is free from nasties and will help prevent any unwanted food-related temper tantrums? Add to cart. We also love that it has the additional benefit of Vitamin D to assist with the absorption of dietary calcium for optimal bone and teeth health.

3. Consider Gut Health & Build Their Immune System

One of the key benefits of HMOs is that they serve as food for good bacteria in your little one’s gut1. We often forget, but 70% of the immune system is actually housed in the gut, so it needs to be in tip-top shape! Studies have shown that HMOs may play an important role in children’s gut health, keeping their digestive systems healthy and strengthening gut barrier function2.
Biostime 2’-FL HMO ProBOOST + Vit D  nourishes healthy immune system growth and development, containing a HMO that is structurally identical to a prebiotic that is found in breastmilk. This is particularly important, as only one in ten toddlers are still breastfeeding, so quality supplements can be a beneficial addition to their diet, by continuing to provide the nutritional support that is the foundation for building their Immunity567.

4. Be Kind to Yourself

At the end of the day, it’s important that we recognise that supporting toddler development isn’t a one size fits all approach. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed by the endless possibilities, and you’re really not alone if you’re finding the process harder than you expected it to be. Who can honestly say that they feel like they’re getting it right 100% of the time?

By choosing products like Biostime 2’-FL HMO ProBOOST + Vit D, you can take some of the pressure off of yourself and be reassured that your little one is getting the benefits of a supplement to complement their daily nutritional needs.

  • I think it’s important to look at nutrition across, say, a week – one bad meal doesn’t mean much if the rest of the week was pretty good.

  • We don’t want only have the best nutrition for our toddlers, but for all of our family young & old.
Personally I believe the best nutrition comes from a great variety of good healthy wholesome foods

    • To be honest, it’s the question id toddlers need formula at all !
In Australia, the National Health and Medical Research Council recommends: Special complementary foods or milks for toddlers are not required for healthy children. … Solid foods should provide an increasing proportion of energy intake after the first year.
