Danni knew the matte black Lustro KONTACT Sink Mixer from Greens was a match made in heaven for her monochrome kitchen. What she hadn’t expected was how much more efficient it would make cleaning up!

If there’s one thing Danni needs to be in the kitchen, it’s quick! With two little ones and an energized puppy under her roof, the demands of the household are constant and she knows all too well the importance of a fully functional kitchen.

While her previous kitchen tap was sleek and modern, it wasn’t ideal when it came to efficient washing up.

“It had sort of a silicon spout and it had a big bar which I wasn’t a big fan of. It tended to get in the way and it didn’t reach all the corners that I needed. So, whilst it looked beautiful, the functionality wasn’t quite what I needed in the kitchen.”

The KONTACT difference

Danni replaced her old tap with a Greens Lustro KONTACT Sink Mixer in matte black. Aside from being the perfect partner for a black sink, it delivered incredible functionality right off the bat.

“I really love the KONTACT feature on the tap. We make schnitzels or we bake and we’ve constantly got little crumbs or things on our hands we don’t want to get all over the handle. I can just tap with the back of my hand. I don’t know how I was doing any of my cooking before this, to be honest!”

“You don’t need to tap in any particular place. I do have a tendency to just tap on top just because of where it’s sort of positioned in the kitchen. But you can also tap on lower if you’re sort of walking by. And it’s really quite easy to tap any part of the tap.”

A tap with big reach

The Lustro KONTACT comes with a user-friendly pull-down function that reaches every nook and cranny of the sink.

“You can get right in and clean. I’m a bit of a clean freak, so it’s really nice that I can get right in all those crevices with that.”

“The pull-down function is so smooth. There’s no need to yank on it or pull it on hard. Just gently tug, turn it on, spray whichever way you would like to clean, and place it back in nice and gently.”

Danni also loves the effortless swivel function and height of the tap, saying she can “swivel it and get it completely out of the way when I’m giving it a good rinse.”

It is great to get the pots in and underneath so you’re not sort of banging on them and damaging any of the products here at all.”

Less noise, great pressure

Nobody wants a noisy kitchen tap, and according to Danni, the Lustro KONTACT is anything but.

“It’s actually so quiet! The spray has a bit of force, which is great because you don’t need to use it for very long. But in terms of just the general tap when you touch it and turn it on, it’s nice and quiet.”

“With the water pressure, I did notice a big change, especially when I used the pull-down and the spray function – it had some power. So, I definitely won’t be needing to scrub for as long as I was before. It was impressive.”

“Worth the investment”

When it comes to which households could benefit from the Greens Lustro KONTACT Sink Mixer, Danni says “anyone with a kitchen!” and explains that it’s well worth the investment.

“I think the tap is perfect for families, especially busy people on the run, but also I think of people like my mom or grandparents who love to be in the kitchen … I think it’s actually a perfect addition for any household.”

“The kitchen is the heart of the home … we are constantly cleaning up and it’s absolutely worth the investment to have such a beautiful tap.”

  • It’s a lovely design and I love some of the functions like the pull down function. We are renovating the kitchen soon, so I was interested to see this and watch the video. Not sure we will be going for a black sink though so that isn’t something I like, but a great sink none the less

  • I like the colour but it is rather large. I guess you would just get used to that. It doesn’t really encourage me to change my current tapware but if I were renovating or building, I certainly would look into it. I like the fact that it is quiet and good water pressure.

  • Thank your for providing the video review of the sink mixer. I do like the pull down feature of the tap and this would be quite useful in my kitchen. I use lots of big pots and pans in my cooking and this function would be practical and helpful. I like the look of the copper sink mixer; prefer the look over the black sink mixer.

  • This has some wonderful, handy features. I love the idea of tapping it to start and swiveling out of the way. The look and colour does not appeal to me in the slightest though. It looks huge and ugly. A no from me. Maybe for those that love that heavy, industrial look.

  • I do like the idea of a sink mixer and would like one that is smaller and blends with the kitchen rather than features in a kitchen. I would also prefer a different colour in a sink mixer. I do like kitchen ware and kitchen items that have a distinctive style and appearance.

  • Some of those functions – like the tapping, or swivelling it out of the way – sound great. But a black tap wouldn’t work well in my kitchen.

  • It looks very stylish and would be a great addition when we renovate our kitchen.

  • We have mixer taps everywhere at home as my late husband had very bad arthritic hands and mixers made it easier for him to use the taps. Is this new mixer which looks absolutely fantastic an easy or easier to fit or does everything have to be replaced? As I have to be the handyman now, I need things that are simple to do.

  • We are looking to renovate our house and have never thought of a sink mixer before. This tap looks like a game changer and I love the colour. The pull down function would be perfect for washing veges and also keeping the sink nice and clean also for washing things like blenders

  • Beautiful looking design and very efficient to with the pull down function, spray function and tap function ! I understand it would be a perfect addition for any household, but pity enough we are not home owners and are renting our property: we we can’t make changes or adjustments to our house.

  • We will be looking to upgrade our laundry in the near future so I will certainly need to start considering tap options and this looks like a great option. I like the look of this mixer tap – it’s quite elegant and love the colour, functionality and design. Will definitely keep this option in mind.

  • I’ve honestly never given thought to a sink mixer. But I’ve never renovated either. This was a great opportunity and certainly looks smart, modern and sleek. I do like the functionality described, especially about not having to touch the taps when you’re hands are covered in anything! Now to make one of these for the laundry!
