Hello!

Spring is here, the buds are out, the sun is streaming in … and you realise how grimy everything has become! Eeeek, looks like you’re going to need to go a little deeper with your house cleaning.

We hate to say it but it’s time to go beyond your standard quick zoom around the house with the vacuum and tick off some of the jobs you’ve been ignoring. Luckily we have a few hacks up our sleeve that will definitely ease the pain; some very clever little hacks indeed that will have your home sparkling and ready for Spring before you know it.

House Cleaning Job No. 1

Are you completely sick of the soap scum that always seems to sit toward the bottom of your shower glass?

Yessss! Aren’t we all. No matter how much you squeegee after a shower, wipe down with a towel, squirt or spray on the chemicals, it never seems to budge.

We’ve even tried a paint scraper before to no avail. House cleaning is hard enough without little jobs like this getting in the way – don’t you think?

We are in love with this House Cleaning Hack for Soap Scum!  All you need to do is:

  1. Pop on some Ansell gloves
  2. Apply toothpaste to a damp cloth
  3. Apply all over the glass with a circular motion and a small amount of downward pressure
  4. Use an Oates Grout Brush for nooks and crannies you can’t reach with the cloth
  5. Rinse and enjoy the beautiful clean glass

House Cleaning Job No. 2

Spring is the perfect time to tick cleaning the microwave off your house cleaning jobs list.

All Winter you’ve been heating up soup, which splatters every time. The kids have been making oats for breakfast and the milk’s overflowed and the leftover spaghetti bolognese that hubby heated up to eat during the footy has somehow magically jumped up and hit the roof of the microwave.

Your microwave has seen better days and you’re praying no friend pops in and asks to reheat their coffee!

This House Cleaning Hack is almost too simple. And the results are amazing:

  1. Half fill a glass bowl with 1 cup water and 1 cup white vinegar
  2. Place in the microwave on high heat for 10 minutes
  3. Pop on some Ansell gloves
  4. Wipe away all the grime and grit with a damp cloth
  5. Rinse between wipes and continue to wipe until all grime is gone

House Cleaning Job No. 3

Spring is here and you’ve flung open all the doors and windows. The fresh air is wafting in and the sunlight is streaming in.

These are of course wonderful but as Winter’s dark days and even darker nights make way to longer days and beautifully sunlit days, this shows up every bit of pet hair that’s lurking around your house.

Get rid of pet hair between vacuums on your cushions and lounges with Ansell. Yes, forget all sorts of gadgets and gimmicks and simply use an Ansell glove to lift and remove your furry friend’s fur and hair!

House Cleaning Job No. 4

Spring is here and you’ve flung open all the doors and as the sun has shone in, it’s shown up all the cloudy, murky glassware on your mantel.  Nothing clear about that glassware (except whose fingerprints are everywhere)!

Vinegar, Water, a little dishwashing liquid and some Ansell gloves to the rescue.

This House Cleaning Hack is almost too simple. And the results are amazing:

  1. Mix 1 part water and 1 part vinegar with a drop of dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle
  2. Arrange all your glassware on tea towels or hand towels and spray liberally with the solution
  3. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes and then simply wipe down and air dry

So there you have it … 4 House Cleaning Hacks that will have you on top of your Spring Cleaning game in a heartbeat. Super easy, you’ll probably have everything you need in the cupboard and a lovely fresh, harsh chemical free approach.

Any other House Cleaning Hacks you’d add to this list? We always love a little work around … gives us more time to get out there to enjoy Spring!

We developed these 4 House Cleaning Hacks in partnership with the team from Ansell. Enjoy!
