If you’ve ever watched an American TV show and drooled over the famous In-N-Out Animal Style Fries, this article is about to answer all of your prayers.

Thanks to gloriously bubbly and adorable TikTok creator Anna Paul, Aussies can now make Animal Style Fries at home. The well-travelled social media star reckons her recipe is better than the actual In-N-Out Animal Style Fries – and the internet agrees with her.

Her recipe has gone gangbusters, racking up more than eight million views, with hundreds of followers trying it out – and saying they are a delectable creation.

To make the ‘sauce’ to top the fries you need Kewpie mayo, tomato sauce, mustard, a splash of pickle juice and one pickle, cut into small cubes (Anna measures these by look and feel!). Anna also cuts up one brown onion, dices it up and adds half to the sauce. Then mix it up.

Melt some butter and add the rest of the diced onion and cook until very brown.

Cook the fries in the air fryer, then lay slices of ‘plastic cheese’ (the Kraft singles that come individually wrapped) over the top of the cooked fries. Microwave the fries for a few seconds to melt the cheese, then top with the sauce and cooked onions.

These look amazing! Will you be giving them a go? Let us know in the comments below.

  • I have never heard of these and to me they don’t look particularly nice at all. Add to the facts that I don’t have one of these air-fryers and the chances of me trying this recipe out falls way down the listing. Give me and mine wholesome fresh vegetables any day rather than made up goop!

  • I have also never heard of out of In-n-out before but this does sound like something you could get in America. I do love a cheese dish and it does sound quite nice just not sure if it is something i would make and wouldn’t it go everywhere if you put in the air fryer?

  • I have never heard of In N Out Animal Style fries. Why are they even called that, I wonder? I am sceptical of this recipe with the pickles. That’s where you lose me. I don’t mind a pickle on my burger, but this sounds like a lot and all blended in with everything else. You could probably get something similar with special burger sauce from Coles and pizza cheese melted on top.

  • Perhaps something you could have a couple of times a year but more then that it would cause an expanding waist line for sure

  • I’ve not heard of these fries before. Not sure about microwaving cooked fries, too much soggy chips then. The rest looks ok
