From Stanley to Sol De Janeiro and Glow Recipe, Kmart has taken on some of the biggest brands in the world and launched budget dupes of hundreds of viral products. And its latest release is a $4 buy that every tween and teen wants to get their hands on. Literally.
The pandemic propelled hand sanitiser into the stratosphere, with many new brands appearing on the market. But one in particular became viral sensation, for combining innovative design with a brilliant social media campaign – particularly on TikTok.
Touchland Power Mist Hand Sanitiser became a handbag must-have, with everyone from teens to celebrities snapping it up in every scent. After launching in 2016, the company saw a 203% year on year sales increase in 2023.
And while it’s relatively inexpensive at US$10, the brand doesn’t ship to Australia.
So Kmart has decided to bring out their own dupe of the popular mist, and it costs just $4. It comes in four scents, watermelon, peach, coconut and grapefruit seed extract, and has been launched along with a bunch of new beauty buys.
Here’s a comparison of the ingredients from Touchland and the Kmart hand sanitiser:
