Mermaid hair is here just in time for the holidays and it’ll make all your kids dreams come true.

With the school year coming to a close, now is the perfect time to break all the rules that go with it. Staying up to watch Elf past bedtime? No problem. Playing video games all day? Sure thing. Having crazy colourful hair? Absolutely! Mermaid hair is here just in time for the holiday season, and it has parents and kids going wild!

All The Colours Of The Rainbow

The trend is gaining popularity in the celebrity community too, with Grant Denyer’s wife Chezzi caving to pressure from their seven year old daughter Sailor to allow her to have her hair coloured. “Holiday time and my 7.5 year old daughter is getting ‘mermaid’ colour which is three differing shades of purple, pink and aqua,” Chezzi captioned her Instagram pic. Talking to kidspot.com.au, Chezzi said, “I took her into the hairdressers and asked for their opinion. I didn’t feel comfortable dying her whole head but was happy to have a rinse in a few streaks.”

Mums Can Match

Since posting the pic of Sailor getting her new do, Chezzi said she has been inundated with mums saying their children want to get it done too! We think it’s a cute idea for the holidays, and as it only uses rinse out dye, hair will return to normal just in time for the back to school preparation. Plus there are over 2 million posts attached to #mermaidhair on Instagram so there’s plenty of inspo to check out!

I love this. Well, the first 3 pics are gorgeous anyway. Grant Denyers daughter is not impressive. Too subtle and hard to see for my liking

Nope! Not interested in mermaid hair. Do not like chemicals in hair and absorbing into the scalp.
