My family won a $375 gift voucher to put towards a family portrait from action studio at margate. We were so happy as we were due to update our family photo for the kids grandparents. We booked a photography session after lana called to find out more about our family and what we all liked so that they could personalize our photos. On that phone call i found out that a session fee of $150 is charged on a weekday booking so we booked for a friday when my husband would be home after also paying a $50 booking fee. I asked lana about pricing on the phone and she was very vague and didnt want to give me many details and told me that pricing would be explained to us more after the shoot had been completed, i felt uncomfortable about this and called a couple of days later to ask once more about pricing only to be told that i would recieve a call later that day from lana to talk to me about the pricing, which i never recieved.

On the day of the photoshoot, izzy the photographer was lovely and great with my 4yr old and 2yr old and tried everything she could to make them as comfortable as possible. After the photoshoot had been finished izzy gave me a piece of paper with pricing information on it to which i asked why i wasnt given the information about this pricing over the phone, izzy had assumed that lana had called with this information.

On the way home i called lana to talk to her about why she had not called me with information i had requested and she was ademant that shed left a message which she hadnt. I told lana that the reason i needed this information is because we didnt have a great deal of money to spend and didnt want to be caught off guard. She then told me i was ungreatful and that we didnt have to pay anything for the family portrait due to the gift voucher and that they dont do charity and just give stuff away to people.

My husband and i decided that after this phone call we would only take our free family portrait and move on but when we went to view our photos we were told by brigita the matriach of the business that we werent allowed to just view our family portraits we had to view everything. After the viewing all the photos, we told brigita that we didnt have lots of money to spend and would most likely have to walk away from the majority of the photos as we couldnt afford them as we had mentioned right from the beginning. She then showed us collections that would cost between $2000 and $3500 and then when we asked to have some time to talk to decide what we wanted as we didnt want to discuss our financial situation in front of her, her attitude changed completely and she said you have had plently of time to discuss what you want, i knew you would whinge because youve whinged the whole way through.

At this point we got up and left without purchasing anything or using our voucher. Please do not use this company they are very expensive, unprofessional and extremey rude.

See if they’re online. They might have proper reviews to help you out. You could also go to their studio and check out what’s on display. They usually have sone of their photos hanging on the walls
