If you’ve ever dreamt of being able to spend Monopoly money on real-world goodies, your dreams are about to come true!

A real-life version of the hugely popular board game is coming to Australia very soon – and you’ll be able to pass go, go to jail and make a grab for cash.

Monopoly Dreams is set to open in Melbourne Central on 21 October 2023, and will be only the second of its kind in the world.

Covering 1700 square metres, Monopoly Dreams is the brand’s largest immersive walk-through experience in the world, with augmented reality, 4D technology, physical challenges and games.

Visitors will be able to tour Mr Monopoly’s luxe mansion, before stepping onto those famous streets in Monopoly City. The drawcard will include immersive experiences, challenges and games.

Monopoly Mansion includes an elevator ride to the penthouse, where you’ll learn more about the world’s richest man – Mr Monopoly. While Monopoly City is a real-life recreation of many of the iconic Monopoly board games staples, including jail (where you can take a mugshot!), the bank (where you can grab as much Monopoly Money as you can!) and even Water Works (where you can help fix the broken pipes). There’ll also be a 4D cinema!

And you’ll also get the chance to win Monopoly money to spend at the park’s cafe and retail store.

  • I’m sure everyone will love it but why is WA never included in such things. I saw an advert the other day about a singer touring the whole of Australia and yet not in WA. Are we a different country from Australia?

  • That is fantastic. But living in Western Australia this is such a disadvantage for us – cost my family a fortunate including airfares. accommodation, and other expenses. Just look from across the Nullarbor stretch.
