Now You Can Make Ketchup Ice-Cream At Home

Heinz has launched an exciting, taste-bud twisting range of rather interesting ice-cream flavours – such as mayonnaise, salad cream and even ketchup ice-cream.

Burgers and chips are just not the same without ketchup and potato salad is a sham without mayo. BUT mixing these essential condiments with sweet ice-cream is certainly a bold move.

Heinz recently launched a range of DIY ice-cream kits to make the cold treat based on the company’s most popular condiments including – Ketchup, Mayonnaise, BBQ, Saucy Sauce and Salad Cream.

At the moment, the kits are only being shipped within the UK. But never fear, Heinz has released its recipes online so that we can make our own sweet/savoury ice-creams at home.

It’s really simple. All you need is condensed milk, full cream milk, double cream and a bottle of your favourite Heinz sauce and you’re good to go.

Despite being a bit unsure about the whole concept, the company assures us that the crazy flavours are actually delicious, especially with their suggested toppings.

Ice-cream toppings (as suggested by Heinz):

Ketchup Ice-cream – Add a crumble of meringue and a drizzle of raspberry coulis.

Mayo Creamz – Pair this creamy treat with apple and blackberry compote topped off with a layer of crumble.

Saucy Sauce Creamz – Add a sizzling combo of Heinz Sweet Chilli Sauce, crushed peanuts and a squeeze of lime.

Salad Creamz – This is just perfect topped with fresh strawberries.

BBQ Creamz – Sprinkle with crispy bacon bits, pecan pieces and maple syrup. Smokin’
