He is the Royal we all love, HRH Prince Harry melts hearts all over the world everyday, and his latest speech has us loving him even more.
During their first joint appearance since HRH Prince Harry slammed the media about their ‘relentless propaganda’ against the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, the Prince showed the world his soft side as he delivered a speech at the WellChild Awards.
Harry spoke to the audience at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel, where the charity event took place, about how being a parent now resonates in a different way when it comes to seriously ill children. He became visibly overwhelmed whilst delivering his speech, choking up whilst talking about being a Father.
The WellChild Awards Ceremony is all about ‘the inspiring qualities of some of the UK’s seriously ill young people’, and Prince Harry is patron of the charity.
His speech clearly moved audience members, here is a snippet of what he said:
“Last year when my wife and I attended we knew we were expecting our first child – no one else did at the time, but we did.
“I remember squeezing Meghan’s hand so tight during the awards, both of us thinking what it would be like to be parents one day, and more so, what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time.
“And now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heart strings in a way I could have never understood until I had a child of my own.”
Here is the full speech:
The speech comes just a few days after The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, shared an inspiring video message to young girls all around the world.
We are so thrilled for the couple, and can’t wait to hear more about parenthood as a Royal.
