The 5-star newborn must have sleep aid!

5 stars for the Euky Bear Sweet Dreams Sleep Aid!

In the past few weeks, I've seen a rapid improvement in my little baby's sleep quality and it has halved the time taken to calm my little one to sleep. The use of the sleepytime oil with the heartbeat music particularly has seen me go from 20 to 40 minutes to calm my little one down to 10 to 15 minutes which has been awesome, especially as we begin her transition into her big cot in her new nursery room!

Love the ability to have Bluetooth so I can connect and play my own audio, there is mutliple music options, a timer for the diffuser and it has the red light therapy and colour transition built in which is a real winner.

It is a great humidifier and diffuser and I am excited to continue using. As a second time mum, I wish I had this the first time around and can't beleive I didn't! A newborn must-have.

Game Changer Versatile Product Every Parents Needs

What a great product full of different functions in one. With many of the functions be used from birth. Having my fourth baby I’ve had my fair share of using baby products. What is appealing for me with this product is how there are many functions this product does.

Pink noise & soothing sounds particularly the water sound have been used daily as it helps my son to fall asleep & stay asleep easily, in unison with the red light which has helped support his natural circadian rhythm, allowing him to fall asleep easily.

I have particularly loved the Aromatherapy Humidifier function a lot to ease & remove a sniffley nose with the Euky Bear Baby Essential Oils.

Other functions which are included & are great include, a clock, so handy to know the time, especially in those early morning wake ups. I love that it can run all night long & you can manage via a wireless connection. Finally it’s cool to touch.

Euky Bear’s Mindful Moments device is amazing!

I really love the Euky Bear Mindful Moments Children’s Meditation Aid. It’s not only helpful and functional, but is also very aesthetic. The meditation voice is really soothing and my kids adore the cloud display and changing colours. I can’t think of one negative, besides the ability to turn the volume up a bit more. This isn’t even a negative, but my teen tried to listen to music via the bluetooth function and was annoyed they couldn’t pair their heavy metal with the ‘cool colours’ haha. My younger kids love it though and do the meditations. Thanks.

    Aww soon cute

"Aww so cute" were Mr 3's words when he spied the adorable koala mascot on the box. This product was a massive hit in our household from the excitement of delivery through to the unboxing and testing out all all the applications. Very clear instructions, beautiful aromas, easy to use, very soothing and educational. Mr 3 also earnt a new word "aroma" which for some reason he found highly amusing. We are still trying all the functions and so far loving this product. Very highly recommended.

    Tranquil, calming and beautiful

As soon as I turned on the sleep aid, my daughter was so excited to see the beautiful colourful lights and clouds on the ceiling. We have tried the different tracks and colours and now have a new sleep routine. No more trying to delay sleep as she is now excited for sleep (for now!) She loves the calming voice that helps her relax along with the scents of the humidifier. I like the convenience of the different time settings and might “borrow” for myself a couple nights!

    Still loving it!

I love the night light and we use it all the time. I need to remember to top it up with water more often to use the humidifier option. And I really should as my daughter has had a cold and so I think it would help. The meditations haven't become a regular thing. But they are fun and very relaxing so we like to do them every so often.

Great for kids of all ages

I tried this to initially assist my toddler with his sleep. Whilst it was great for my toddler, and he loved the blue night sky more than the red or other colours, I tested it with my older child. He is 9 and the calming voice coupled with the mist helped him have one of his best nights sleep in quite a while. I think I may be moving it amongst both rooms until I get to the shops to buy another one.

    Mindful Moments Children’s Meditation Aid

What an absolute pleasure to be able to try the “Mindful Moments Children’s Meditation Aid” with my little one. It is so calming and soothing and my little one looks forward to laying down to listen to the calming voice and music. I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the many features. Both of the included oils smelled divine and were not overpowering. The only small issue I had was the light projection didn’t seem as nice or bright as I thought it would be. It is still a fabulous product though and I would definitely recommend and I would even buy as a gift for someone with a little one as we use it everyday and love it.

  • Sweet Dreams Sleep Aid Review

    Love this sleep aid

I was so thankful to be chosen for the Euky Bear review. My baby just got over his first cold and I was just about to buy one after hearing so many good things about them!

I am so impressed with the functionality of this little sleep aid - it has everything you need in one place. We already use a red light for our baby when he is sleeping but this will make it easier when he moves into his own room, plus it has the option of doubling as a night light. The sound machine is just great - there are 5 options installed plus it has Bluetooth capability. O

The speaker isn't anything fancy but it really does the job.

The mist function works so well and the Euky Bear oil blends smell lovely. There is a built in timer so you can set and forget - you could leave it on all night or just while you're doing your night time routine.

My baby seemed calmer with the Sleep Aid on and it has been a really nice edition to our bedtime wind down.

    Highly recommend.

Add this to your gift registry

I wish I had this Euky Bear Sleep Aid since day one! I'm absolutely obsessed. This device has become our entire nighttime routine: red light, a soft lullaby that I can change into the pink noise, and the sleepy time aromatherapy mist as well. This is literally a game changer. I am using this every night going forward. I'm also happy I've got this to use when the sniffles come in winter.

Euky Bear has replaced another leading device on the market that I have been using since my son was born. The only things that could improve this product would be a remote for when I'm already sitting down baby in arms to adjust the settings and a thermometer for room temperature, otherwise it's literally perfect!

A beautiful way to ease into bedtime, and stay asleep

We have love using our Euky Bear Mindful Moments Children's Meditation Aid, it has been a wonderful tool for us parents and a source of comfort and calm for our toddler. The guided meditation has such a calming voice, it's been a great way for us both to unwind together and get ready for his bedtime. The diffuser scents are divine, they really set the mood for a deep night's sleep. His favourite feature currently is the cloud projection. We turn it on after reading our bedtime stories, cuddling and watching the ceiling. This machine is so wonderful, there are so many features to help give little bears a peaceful rest, and help tackle those big emotions that can stir up in the witching hour before bed. This has become a huge part of our nightly bedtime routine, I highly recommend it.

It worked! The lullaby is so calming!

Very handy to have the diffuser, light therapy and lullabies and noise all in one and goes on the whole night without having to worry about battery life. The sound options were so calming that even I felt soothed and my baby loves the lullaby. Light options were good however it felt like the bright display somewhat took away from the red light therapy feature. Another thing to note is it vocalises the Bluetooth status and beeps whenever a button is pressed so can't change options near a lightly sleeping baby. Otherwise a great multifunctional sleep aid that not only works but is also aesthetically pleasing.

Initial review and thoughts of Sweet Dreams sleep aid

Got my hands on the Euky Bear Sweet Dreams Sleep Aid, and my first impressions as a second time parent is good and I am excited to use this for a sleep aid solution for my six months old little one!

From first view, I am impressed with the all-in-one device that combines soothing sounds, red light therapy, and aromatherapy through a humidifier. The added bonus of pink noise with options like heartbeat sounds, waterfalls, and lullabies is a great feature! I love the lullabies added (so calming that even I was relaxing).

I really like the humidifier with mutliple light colours and options. The oils also look great for helping with different needs like sleep, calming, tummy ease, and even sniffly noses, which will be a great natural aid during those tough nights or days where bub needs some extra support to calm and fall asleep.

It seems like a thoughtfully designed product that combines multiple soothing elements in one compact unit ... so I’ll be keen to see how well the combination of sound, light, and aromatherapy works in practice and how it helps my little one settle more easily and sleep better through the night.

It's been easy to set up (despite the lid initially being stuck before first use but no issues with the screw on afterwards). I've been using it for a few days so far so will post another review after further use 😊

Mother’s instinct is a funny thing. At home, we trust it without question. But put us in a hospital setting with an unwell child, surrounded by doctors, nurses and monitors, and suddenly we start doubting ourselves.

What if I’m overreacting?
What if I’ve got it wrong?

So we stay quiet, even when we know something just isn’t right with our child. I’ve been there myself – when my usually ‘tough’ son was doubled over with stomach pain. I was told in the emergency department that it probably wasn’t his appendix. But I knew he wouldn’t have begged me to take him to hospital unless it was serious. Because I know him better than anyone. Turns out, it was appendicitis.

It’s a really common place for parents to land. You’re grateful for the care your child is getting, but at the same time, you feel this huge responsibility to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.

Here’s the thing though: that instinct you’re feeling? It matters more than you might think.

Why your gut feeling matters more than you realise

According to Paediatric Nurse Unit Manager, Canterbury Hospital, Leticia Jackson, parents bring something to the hospital that no test or machine ever could.

“Parents often say they ‘just know’ when something isn’t quite right with their child, and in a hospital, that gut feeling is incredibly valuable,” she explains.

Leticia Jackson, Paediatric Nurse Unit Manager, Canterbury Hospital

While medical teams rely on observations, tests and equipment, parents know the little details. The way your child usually smiles. How they react when they’re tired. What’s normal for them.

So when something feels “off”, even if everything looks okay on paper, it can actually be an early warning sign.

“When parents trust those instincts and speak up, this creates a powerful partnership that can sometimes catch a problem before it becomes an emergency,” Leticia says.

Worried about speaking up? You’re not alone

A lot of parents hesitate about advocating for their child.

You don’t want to come across as difficult. You don’t want to question the people caring for your child. And sometimes, you just don’t feel confident enough to push the issue.

Leticia gets it.

“It is completely understandable for parents to feel hesitant,” she says. “No one wants to be seen as difficult or to second-guess the hardworking people caring for their child.”

But here’s a helpful way to look at it: you’re not challenging the medical team, you’re helping them.

Parents are the constant. Staff change shifts, care for multiple patients, and rely on snapshots of information. You’re there the whole time, noticing the subtle changes.

“Our medical team doesn’t view a concerned parent as overreactive, but as a partner,” Leticia explains. “Your voice matters.”

Remember, we know our children better than anyone.

What to do if you’re worried: the Raise It process

If you’re in a NSW public hospital or health service and you’re worried about you or your child’s condition getting worse, there is a clear process you can follow called Raise It.

Raise It is designed to help patients, carers and family members get help fast if they’re worried about a change in their loved one’s condition.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Talk: Start by speaking to a nurse, midwife, doctor or health worker about your concerns.
  2. Ask: Still worried? Ask to speak to the nurse or midwife in charge and request a Clinical Review.
  3. Call: If you’re still concerned, you can escalate further using the Raise It process to get urgent attention from a senior health worker.

You don’t need medical knowledge. You don’t need to be certain. If you feel something isn’t right, or your child is getting worse, Raise It. You just need to speak up.

What should you actually look out for?

Sometimes it’s not one big, obvious sign. It can be small, subtle changes that just don’t sit right.

Things like:

  • Changes in breathing (fast, laboured or noisy)
  • Skin looking pale, mottled, or developing unusual rashes
  • Your child being unusually drowsy, floppy, or hard to wake
  • Confusion or behaviour that’s out of character
  • Pain that isn’t improving with treatment
  • Or simply that feeling that your child is getting worse

And sometimes, it’s just that gut feeling you can’t explain.

That’s enough.

“You are helping us, not bothering us”

If there’s one message Leticia wants parents to take away, it’s that you aren’t bothering the medical team, you’re helping them.

“In my years as a Nurse Unit Manager, I can say with absolute certainty that many critical changes in a child’s condition have been identified first by a parent. While our clinical staff are highly skilled at performing regular observations and interpreting data, parents are the only constant presence who truly know their child’s baseline behaviour, personality, and what is normal for them.

“I have seen numerous instances where a parent’s insistence that their child is “just not themselves” – despite vital signs appearing relatively stable – has prompted a deeper clinical review that uncovered everything from early signs of sepsis to a life-threatening respiratory crisis.”

The Raise It process exists because healthcare teams know how important parents are in keeping children safe.

“Speaking up doesn’t mean you don’t trust the team,” she says. “It means you’re partnering with us to make sure nothing gets missed.”

And if you’re still worried about being judged?

“Whether your concern turns out to be something or nothing, your instinct to raise it is always valid.”

  • You should never second guess yourself when it comes to yours or your childs health- or anyones for that matter. Go with your thoughts. It is natural to want to protect a loved one especially when it comes to health situations, and the feeling you get when you think you didnt do enough to advocate or fight for them…it is not a kind or nice way to feel. Many people have ended up being heartbroken and picking up pieces for years because of feeling they didnt do enough.

  • A very good and informative article. I have read so many stories about mums just knowing when things are not right and demanding second and third opinions until they got the right answer. Sometimes mums just know. It is our job as care takers of our families. Listen to your gut!

  • Years ago, I spoke up for my 14-year-old daughter, but my concerns weren’t fully listened to. I’ve always wished I had pushed harder. She was sent home without much testing, and two days later, she passed away.
So, if you ever have concerns—no matter how minor—please speak up and keep advocating. Trust your instincts; they are there for a reason.

  • This is so important for parents to know how to raise it further if they don’t think their child is receiving the medical support they need! I know this article refers to the NSW system but other systems have similar procedures just with different names. I know in QLD it’s called Ryan’s Rule.

  • It’s so important to follow your gut instincts and express your concerns indeed. I have never hesitated to advocate for my children in various situations and I don’t care what other people think about it. Not all doctors and medical staff appreciate it when you question them, I’ve experienced that it may result in angry indignant responses.

  • How true this is! While nurses and doctors are the medical professionals doing their job on the daily, we know our children better than anyone and what is ‘normal’ for them. I would always speak up if I had noticed any changes in my child’s health and encourage other parents to do so too. No question is silly!

  • This really is such an important issue and a good topic to discuss with people, I am often surprised that people are worried about being judged. This is not something I care about; the priority is for the care and health of everyone is my family. Parents know their children and need to work with health professionals for the best outcomes for their children.

  • This is such an important issue to raise, and no one should ever feel ashamed, nervous or that they are being OTT for advocating for their kids, themselves or loves ones in hospital. In QLD we have Ryan’s Rule. A three step process where your concern will be escalated if they believe the patients condition isn’t improving or is worsening.

  • I have never been afraid to advocate for my children and partner and extended family and also friends. It is so important to listen and to trust intuition. When people have not listened, I have persevered and kept on with insisting on care and making sure they truly listened and took action.
