The Royal family has revealed that Princess Beatrice has given birth to her second bundle of joy!

The 36-year-old granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their second baby girl, Athena Elizabeth Rose. The couple also has a three-year-old daughter, Sienna, and Edoardo has an eight-year-old son, Wolfie, from a previous relationship.

Edoardo shared a sweet photo of his baby daughter, commenting, “We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena.”

Buckingham Palace released a statement on social media, revealing the youngest Royal was born on January 22, weighing 4 pounds 5 ounces.

The Princess’ mum, Sarah Ferguson, was also thrilled with the news, writing on social media, “Overflowing with love and joy to be able to welcome Athena Elizabeth Rose into the world. She is already so adored and I’m incredibly blessed to be a Granny once again. So proud of Edo, Beatrice and the rest of my little 5-a-side team!”

  • She lives quite a quiet life now, doesn’t she? I rarely hear about her. I think that’s a good thing while she has a young family. It protects them as well as her, and I’m sure makes day to day life much easier for them. congratulations on the new baby too.

  • What a beautiful name they have given her. I guess the Elizabeth is in acknowledgement of her great grandmother.
4lb 4oz…. she was so tiny. I wonder if she was perhaps a little early.
I would love to be a grandma but none of my three girls seem at all interested

  • Congratulations to Princess Beatrice, her husband Edoardo, big brother Wolfie and big sister Sienna. Wonderful news for them all having a lovely little baby girl, Athena Elizabeth Rose to add to their family. Hopefully the paparazzi will allow them some privacy to bring up their children. Welcome good news for the Royal family

  • Congratulations to the happy couple. I love the name too, actually I love all of their children’s names. Athena is going to be so spoilt by her brother Wolfie and sister Sienna. I’m sure she will grow up loved and cherished by her parents and granny Sarah. Such a lovely family too.

  • I don’t really follow the royals, but that is one very cute little bub! I quite like the name too. It’s unusual, but not really out there. They seem like a lovely, happy family. It’s lovely that Sienna has a new little sister to play with when she’s a little bigger.

  • I do not follow the royal families from any country in the world and do not avidly read any news about them; but it is always lovely to hear the arrival of a new baby news. This type of happy news brings much needed joy into the world and into a family.

  • Awwww congratulations to them all. Love the name. Its very cute and i live how they’ve used Elizabeth as a middle name too. Beautiful gesture. 4 pounds is tiny but I’m sure she is absolutely perfect. Such a
gorgeous, down to earth royal family. Wishing them all the very best. 🙂

  • That’s tiny! But I’m sure she’ll do just fine. Having seen a premature baby who weighed under 3 pounds, I know there can be challenges associated with early delivery. This little one is much bigger so should be fine with good medical care which I’m sure she’ll receive. Nice traditional middle names too

  • Many congrats to this family ! Baby news is always exciting.
I have to admit that I’m not as interested in the royal family and don’t know much about Princess Beatrice, her husband and kids.
I understand that whether we like it or not, the British monarchy has profoundly shaped Australian political and cultural life. However I wonder often what their importance is in this day and age.

  • I really do like the names of the children, they are certainly not the usual style of royal names that get chosen for children. It is quite refreshing to read and know that different names are being used for children. A wonderful new addition for the new year for this family.

  • It’s lovely to see them being just a little like normal families. It must be a hard life. With her parents in the news for so many wrong reasons I am sure she likes to keep out of the limelight. Congratulations to them all. I hope she settles in well.

  • Great news. I didn’t know she was expecting her second child. Glad all has gone well and wishing the family all the very best.

  • Such wonderful news for two people who are obviously very much in love with each other and the earlier siblings. It is so lovely to hear of happy news within the Royal family rather than the constant bickering we are informed about between Will & Harry within the family. This news and that Catherine and King Charles are so far beating the cancer diagnoses is much better to hear about.

  • They seem such a beautiful little family and seem very happy. It’s so good to see. The letter from Sarah Fergusson is super cute! I have always found her to be reasonably down to earth for a royal. The kids have such cute names too that are a bit more unusual for royals.

  • Not a royalist but baby news merits congrats. Hope the more toxic treatment Eugenie and Beatrice extended to Katherine will not be repeated. With age comes experience and more compassion.

  • Congats to them another royal baby
