When I was a kid I used to enjoy this cereal with a little bit of sugar. These days I’m happy to eat it on its own. My children enjoy this with sultanas. The cornflakes a nice and crunchy although tend to go soggy fairly quickly in some milk. They are also versatile. I like to pop them in a food processor and use them as crumbs for my chicken.

Been eating for years I have it with no sugar and sometimes I cut a banana up and put on top. You can make a biscuit and roll it in the cornflakes and they are nice.

We prefer these corn flakes as a snack in the afternoon or whenever, however as a breakfast cereal I find they are not very filling for myself or my kids and do not give them long lasting energy unless I add chia, fruit or nuts etc. The are delicious though.

I pretty much just use these for baking- to make honey joys, or add in to cookies with nuts and choc chips, for the texture. As a breakfast cereal- bleah. There’s hardly anything in them- nothing much in the way of fiber, but there’s added sugar and I hear they actually dye them orange.

Corn Flakes have been around since my childhood, so I don’t hesitate to keep a box in my pantry cupboard. I have made sweets with them too and also used them for a substitute breadcrumb when cooking.

What other cereal product can be used in other meals/cooking? Apart from the obvious breakfast dish, I love the taste of strawberry yoghurt added to my cornflakes in the morning. Bulks it up so the bowl of cereal is all I need for breakfast.
Then there’s the different variety of biscuit recipes which use cornflakes. Chocky Rocks my favourite.
Run out of breadcrumbs? No problem when the cornflakes can be crushed as a substitute.
Even when the cornflakes have not been sealed properly and lose their crunch, just rejuvenate on a tray in the oven and use in the honey joys recipe. Nothing better.

I don’t remember to get these often, I’ve kind of forgotten about them, but I do really enjoy them with icy cold milk. The salt content is too high for them to be a regular breakfast though, especially not something I’d serve often for kids.
