I think this could be a culture thing but I was brought up eating chicken thighs, and it’s always been known that it is the best part, soft juicy and never chewy. But moving to the western culture its always “chicken breast is best part” and i just completely disagree. Maybe we didnt cook it right but every time i have it its always dry, solid, chewy. Even my husband who’s Aussie now agrees that chicken thighs are the best. So I will always buy these
I always used chicken breast when makin my honey mustard chicken. Until one day a few years back they only had the thighs left in the fridge. I used them and haven’t turned back. So much juicier so much more tender.
Chicken thigh cutlets are a great tasting chicken for my kebabs. They cook very well and are perfect for my recipe compared to breast as they don’t dry out.
This is my favourite piece of chicken, yeap, skinless. The thigh is a darker and moister piece of meat. Love them in many different dishes, including chow mein, stir fries, pastry dishes, the list goes on and on.
I use the chicken thigh cutlets for so many recipes, from stir-frys, casseroles, soups, sauces, or simply crumbed and fried. This is an excellent source of protein that the whole family loves.
We have stopped buying any other cut of chicken and only purchase thigh cutlets or fillets. We use them in so many dishes and love that the meat is tasty, juicy and never ever dry.
I picked up big 1.5kg of skinless thigh fillets to make a couple of meals, honey soy chicken and a soup, the fillets were amazing, very juicy and delicious.
I cooked some of these in a casserole tonight. They came out tender and delicious, They were trimmed of nearly all the fat which make them great for many dishes.
I’m vegetarian but the family isn’t so I still occasionally cook meat. The kids favourite is chicken rogan josh and the thigh fillet gives it a better texture than breast fillets.
Despite the name this is just chicken, no matter the shape or form. They are slightly tastier than the breast though and are good for use in stir frys.
I find I usually have to trim them a bit more myself to remove a bit more fat, but these are honestly the best cut to use for cooking – full of flavour, generally cook quicker due to their size and are perfect in curries and casseroles.
I really don’t enjoy cooking a thigh fillet with a bone in it which is essentially what a chicken thigh cutlet is. I have not found a recipe yet in which I can use them with ease.
