I know somebody who lives in Laura but has no vested interest in Golden North nor does she have relatives or friends who work there. According to reports up there they have only received one complaint and the icecream was not returned where it was bought from or to Golden North. They have taken the word of the person who complained and it may/may not have been true. Because of the complaint Golden North have done the right thing and recalled their products. Whether in fact they needed to they don’t know. They stopped production, serviced and cleaned their equipment thoroughly. They found no signs of any metal loose in their equipment or any damaged parts. Customers are now boycotting purchasing their icecream and putting the company at risk of having to close and a lot of people in Laura and surrounding areas will then be unemployed. It may be a similar situation to Arnotts being told that their biscuits had been sabotaged and poisoned. The recalled and disposed of literally tonnes of biscuits in the yard of their Homebush property.

Wow! A pretty scary mishap to occur – metal in ice-cream. A very important recall notice.

That’s such a worry! So glad these brands aren’t on my shopping list!

Store bought ice cream contains so much ingredients we don’t like to put in our bodies, that we rarely buy it anyway ! With homemade ice cream you can keep it pure and natural and you know what goes in your body.

I don’t think any of them are sold anywhere I shop so not really an issue for me thank goodness.
