The ACCC have issued a recall for mini jelly cups due to choking concerns.

The mini jelly cups contain konjac. Mini jelly cups containing konjac are permanently banned in Australia. They are a potential choking hazard if swallowed whole. The product may become lodged in the throat and restrict air supply.

Consumers have been told to cease eating the product and return it to place of purchase for full refund.

  • Jelly can be made from scratch using a juice and / or finely pureed fruit of your choice and thickening it with vegetable gum.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I’m vegetarian and don’t like using jelly. Most jellies are full of colours and flavours and are super refined anyway.

  • I’ve never seen these on supermarket shelves, but it’s good to know I should avoid them. I notice that they are foreign though, they don’t seem to have high products standards to the level we have

  • I’ve never purchased this jelly before, but can definitely see how it would be a choking hazard.

  • I don’t buy these I only buy the aeroplane jelly or the Woolies branded ones
