A great use for leftover ingredients if you hate food waste this Big Mac Smash Taco Pizza is delicious and easy to make.

I used left over burger meat which had paprika, parsley, garlic and onion mixed in, or you could use any mince you want.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 Thin pizza base
  • 250g Ground beef
  • 1/2 Cup Grated Cheese
  • 1 Cup Shredded Lettuce
  • 2 TBS Burger Sauce

Method

  1. Spread mince over pizza base thinly.
  2. Place in frying pan meat side down for 5 mins.
  3. Flip in pan and spread cheese over beef.
  4. When base is crispy, remove from pan.
  5. Top with burger sauce and lettuce.

  • Big Mac fan over here. This is going to be a must try for me. Thankyou for the recipe.

  • My husband loves a Big Mac and thinks the new supermarket Big Mac sauces taste exactly like the real thing so I am keen to give this a try.

  • Yummy pizza and big macs! Keen to try this when I can’t be bothered cooking something big!

  • Do you add taco seasoning? Sounds tasty!

    • Not in the big mac one. But you could make it a Mexican flavoured smash pizza and put your usual taco add on on top.

  • Why is this called a taco pizza ?

    • There’s a viral recipe for ‘Big Mac Tacos’ on TikTok and this is cooked in the same way. If you use a thin enough base, you could fold it into a huge taco.

  • Sorry mince side down lol

  • How does the mince stay on the base when ypu cook it base side down?

    • When I make this, and it’s ready to flip, I sit a dinner plate on the top and flip the whole thing, frying pan and all and then slide the pizza pff the plate back into the pan. If you have a big circle flipper, you could use that too.

  • An intriguing pizza to make and taste.

  • Any burger sauce?

    • Yep. I prefer the Coles Flame Grilled burger sauce, but in this picture I used it and a dash of Mayo.

  • This would really kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. I have a son who loves pizza and burgers so it would be like 2 meals in 1. It’s perfect and so easy to make which is a bonus

  • Hmm… not for me. Lettuce doesn’t belong on pizza. You need to be able to oven bake it with cheese on top.

  • Sounds easy ! Does the meat stick to the pizza base when you fry it upside down ? I would think it rolls of when you flip it ?

    • So far it has. It’s the same principle as a Big Mac taco, but on a pizza base.
I lay a plate on the uncooked base and (magically because I have to dexterity) flip the pan and plate. Then I slide it back into the pan
