I ran out of icing sugar and found this easy recipe. Love it.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1 & 1/3 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Softened butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Method

  1. Place sugar flour and milk in a pot. And whisk together.
  2. Heat over medium heat. It burns quickly so make sure you keep stirring until it thickens up.
  3. After it's thick you can add food colouring and spread the mixture out on plate to cool.
  4. Whip up the butter and vanilla essence. Until fluffy.
  5. Then beat the butter mix and the other mix together until it's icing like.

  • The perfect icing for an ocean themed cake.

  • That’s so handy to know. I’ve run out of icing sugar before, and it’s mighty hard to find somewhere that sells it at 11 at night. I’m copying this recipe out & keeping it for next time I run out.
