I have to admit, I was seriously sceptical when I saw this in the store… But being a lifelong fan of Dettol Antiseptic, I decided to give it a go. I am officially a convert! I LOVE this stuff! Within minutes of applying it to, I’m embarrassed to admit, about twenty years worth of mould in my bathroom tiles, I was able to basically wipe it away! With very little elbow grease at all! I’ve tried so many different products that swore up and down and black and blue that they would get rid of the mould, but even with hours of scrubbing, that stuff seemed to be baked on forever! Living in a rural setting, I have long suffered with ‘that corner of the shower’ mould. We’re reliant on limited tank water and are not able to put chemicals down the drain as that would really mess with our Septic system so my bathroom has been neglected. We also get a pink discolouration due to the untreated water.
The Dettol Heathly Clean Bathroom Mould Remover has a thicker foam than many products and I was able to spray it on, leave it the recommended 5minutes and wipe it off before rinsing. A few pieces of paper towel in the bottom of the shower prevented any of the chemical going down the drain into our septic. Rinsing required minimal water and I was able to rinse my entire 900×1200 shower with just 4 jugs of water.
After I sprayed the Dettol Heathly Clean Bathroom Mould Remover on, I was actually able to see it working. Tiles, grout, silicon, glass, metal – it all sparkled.
I was so impressed with the effectiveness that I even sprayed some onto a piece of paper towel and patted it on a corner of painted wall in the bathroom where some mould was beginning to appear. Not only did it work fast, removing any sign of mould, it did no damage to the paint.

Great product! I found Dettol Bathroom Mould Cleaner to be fast and efficient at eliminating our mould in the bathroom, worked great on walls in our bedroom too.
Our house gets damp so this is a great cleaner to get rid of unwanted mould and kill germs.
The smell is better than most cleaners too, I hate that bleach smell so it was not too overpowering at all.
The price is moderate but as it works well, I would definitely buy this again.

I got to trial this and was most impressed. Since I reviewed it a few weeks ago and ppsted my review I habe used it to get rid of mould on an old car we had to clean for my nieces formal. Her grandads old ford had been in the garage for 7 years and had heavy mould on the vinyl upholstery. I used the dettol on everything and it just wiped the mould away and refreshed it all so after that I moved our vinyl lounge away from the wall and found old heavy mould on the back and used dettol on that too and it brought it back to new. Had to use it twice on that but was magic.never damaged anything. So it has many uses. Ive since purchased another bottle and havnt had anything to use it on lol the bathroom lasts and lasts .i did it twice at first as the rental had heavy mould in the silicone but simce then I have used it once for upkeep. I have to admit to being skeptical that this worked as well as others had described but after giving it a go am pleasantly surprised. Our second shower is for my farmer husband who is often covered in diesel & grease & leaves a film of grime in the shower, so this was a real test. I really wish that I had discovered this product earlier. I attacked the shower earlier this month with vinegar spray. That has nothing on this product. It really is very powerful, easily removing mold from the walls. I find that hte chemical smell is rather over powering though, so I could only clean a little at a time.

We have a lot of mould that builds quickly in our bathrooms. For this reason we have to use quite a strong product to remove it quite often. Dettol is a great brand and I have used this product before. I have found that it doesn’t an adequate job. It doesn’t remove all the mould as quickly as other products I have used but it still does a decent job and I would use it again in the future especially if the product was on sale!

Yes I did find Dettol Healthy Clean Bathroom Mould Remover vanished the mould but sadly after time the mould did return. I found this product worked as well as many other mould removers but the disadvantage with this one is the price. I found that a certain no name product worked just as well. The Dettol Healthy Clean Bathroom Mould Remover did have a nicer and fresher smell to it though.. but for me I would much prefer good old bi-carb and vinegar and if you are really serious about mould removal old fashion oil of cloves is the best.

I would love to review Dettol Healthy Clean Bathroom Mould Remover as I am asthmatic as well as being anaphylaxis to any strong scents – household cleaners as well as any other perfumes smells – so using bleach or exit mould are not an option for me, therefore as my bathroom is small, dark, & over 100yrs old & gets mould on walls, windows as well as around bath/shower weekly I need to scrub with a scrub brush, water & a natural unscented multi-purpose cleaning spray which is hard work for me as I’m disabled & I have limited movement & walk with sticks(Canadian crutches) now.

I was amazed when I used this product as it genuinely worked. Other well known brand mould removers need to be applied every few days and still don’t leave the shower recess looking as though the mould was being removed especially in the corners and under the last row of bathroom tiles. However this Dettol Healthy Clean Bathroom Remover left the shower stall looking refreshing clean so that’s why I rated I gave the five star rating I did. It was powerful in removing the mould, easy to use, no dribbles all over your hand when you use the nozzle, fast working and with a refreshing fragrance. All really good tips. I’m a big believer in not letting them sit in wet nappies for long. Even the most absorbent nappies are resting against their delicate skin and need changing. I’m also a big sudocrem fan. A thin layer applied to irritated skin does wonders. It’s natural for them to have nappy irritations but we can only do our best to avoid it
Really terrific advice. My daughter never had much in the way of nappy rash develop and I believe that because I did change her so frequently and we had a lot of nappy free time, especially in the warmer months of summer. Sure there is things to treat nappy rash but we all know prevention is best!
My first born had terrible nappy rash and ulcers from acid urine and none of the specialists prescription creams did anything. I finally used Petroleum Jelly and it cleared up his skin very quickly and kept future rashes at bay. It is cheap and easy to use and works the best of anything.

I had issues with my son pooping a lot as a newborn. Sometimes it can be really hard to keep the rash at bay if you have a child that is constantly doing that. There is some acidity in the excrement and that can cause burning before it’s even been against their skin for long. I used to use paw paw cream on him and that worked best as a barrier.

It can become more challenging when your child has diarrhea; in which case bare bum time becomes more complex and the skin more irritated in which the gentle washing with warm water, patting dry with a soft cotton flannel and good zinc cream is more important
Even though I agree that prevention is key, I also think it’s important to have a good barrier cream to hand to help at the first signs of trouble. There are lots of good brands, you can pick any really that suits your baby’s skin. But use it liberally when you need it!

But yes, i do swear by changing their nappies as soon as it’s soiled. It’s what worked for us for both children! We always go prepared and change either before going out, during or in the car boot if we really had to
Nappy rash is horrible and prevention is definately better than cure. This is a fantastic article with some great tips. Especially the changing of the nappy frequently. Unfortunately sometimes especially once they’re on solids and their poops get yucky a little nappy rash can be unavoidable in which case a small amount of sudocreme clears it up quickly.
We found that changing nappies frequently was key for us. And once the kids starting sleeping for long periods at night, we started using the really good quality nappies – Huggies, as it happens – while cheaper nappies were still okay for the day and frequent changes. Nappies do vary! .
This is a really great reminder that nappy rash can happen but there are some great tips to help try and avoid it. I use to do a lot of nappy free time with my daughter when we were home as she had sensitive skin and I layered the barrier cream on all the time, especially at night.
