Kraft live free is four times lower in fat than other leading ‘light’ tasty cheeses, thats great in my house when we eat so much cheese, making it the perfect choice for those looking for a reduced fat option. Kraft Live free is also 80% less fat and half the energy of regular tasty cheese; and love its delicious cheddar flavour.
My whole family loves cheese, we nearly eat it every day, either in sandwiches, on crackers, in our main meal, so i live a versatile cheese, with so many brands and types of cheese out there it is so hard to choose, your really spoilt for choice, but i would recommend this one.
I was really impressesed with this cheese can finally have cheese again and enjoy it guiltfree.I eat very healthy and do like to have cheese still in moderation bit even the light cheese still had high saturated fat but this brand didn't and tasted great.
I'm not a big cheese fan but I'm 21 weeks pregnant and my body wants cheese I love this cheese epically on toast, or under the grill it melted easy when I used it in my cob loaf my kids eat it its a great snack for there lunch boxes I defiantly recommend it to others
I loved this tasty cheese I have bought it twice since doing the review I'm hooked versatile enough to you with any meal and occasion easy to use and yummy the kids and hubby loved it to must be tasted to believed
I was very excited to be part of this review as cheese has always been my weakness. I purchased my cheese the same day my voucher arrived. The first thing I noticed after taking the cheese out of the packet was the color was a lot lighter than regular block cheese but to me it seems to have a less processed look to it than the regular very yellow block cheese. I very much enjoyed the taste as did the rest of the family. Toasted cheese sandwiches are common place in my house and the cheese melted perfectly without having that melted plastic look and feel. For someone like me who loves their cheese a little too much Kraft Livefree is a perfect option and will probably be a regular on my shopping list
Ok have made the switch... Loved he taste, price and look of it. Have made he switch to Kraft and knowing it is a better option of cheese made it easier to decide.
Most of the time, light cheeses are very bland. When they are grated, they can end up tasting like little pieces of plastic.
But Kraft have mastered the art of making their cheeses beautifully creamy and rich. The blocks are easy to slice through and melts to beautiful gooey goodness! Love all Kraft cheeses!
This cheese is so tasty for a light cheese. It doesnt have that plastic taste that some light cheeses have. Melts really well and is great in omlettes. It comes in block, grated and other forms so is very convienant for anybody to use. I would definately recommend this cheese to anyone
I did not do this review but was happy with what others were saying about it so i decided to go out and buy it and try myself.. I found it to be very tasting, not like other light cheeses that have a horrible taste. My kids loved it and even my husband was happy with it so for us as a family it is a winner
Bought one of the Kraft Livefree cheese block during one of my routine grocery shopping. I used it on my lasagne sauce and loved it! The texture and taste is so creamy and smooth. The blocks are so easy to use, grated very well and melts easy too. Used a full block for my lasagne and never felt so guilty-free eating it! Definitely a healthier option to use when you are thinking of a cheese loaded dishes. For the price you are paying, Kraft Livefree cheese is definitely worth giving a try.
This cheese is so healthy and had a pretty good taste and texture, my husband and I love it! As for the kids not so much as it requires an acquired taste and does not taste the same as regular cheese. I will keep on buying this product as it is really healthy and the best cheese for me even though it is a bit more expensive then normal cheese.
150g gluten free flour Plus 1/2 cup extra for kneeding
2g xanthan gum
2 free range eggs
Directions
1
Preheat oven to 200C
2
In a heavy based saucepan combine the water, salt and butter.
3
Bring to a simmer and add the flour and Xanthan gum. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon. Lower temperature and continue to cook until pastry comes away from the sides and is well combined. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
4
Whisk the eggs to combine and add half the egg mixture slowly, incorporating fully before adding the final half. If the mixture is a dough texture when you add in the first half, you may not need to rest of the eggs mixture.
5
Turn out onto a surface on which you have placed a further ½ cup gluten free flour and knead until shiny. Try to incorporate as little flour as possible so the pastry does not go crumbly.
6
Chill pastry then using a rolling pin roll the pastry between two pieces of baking paper greased on both sides. Roll to half a centimetre thick and place in pie tins.
7
Properties: browns beautifully, has a nice crispness and holds in moisture. Has a nice potato undertone which is very pleasant. Has a great shelf life, up to 5 days in fridge without going mouldy.
8
Note: You could add 2 teaspoons of xylitol or coconut sugar and make a sweet pastry for fruit pies.
I purchased this product thinking as a cheese lover that it would be a healthier alternative to the lovely cheeses that I eat, I now consider that this was a mistake, I found it to be chalky and rubbery all at the same time, it did not melt at all, I tried to grate some on a pasta bake, big fail, the taste was dry, texture horrid, I have no doubt that it probably is a healthier option but I think I would prefer a smaller serve of a nice cheese than endure this again, I really could not recommend it and I do not think I would consider purchasing it again, in fact I don't think I would ever have it for free.
we are all big cheese lovers around here and i thought that i would give this a go. the kids like it because they pretty much will eat anything. in saying that, my hubby is a big cheese fan and really knows what he likes. he didn't mind this cheese though. we had cheese toasties and i thought that it melted ok. i think i will get it again next time that it is on special.
Kraft Livefree 250g Grated Natural Cheese was trialed at home and used to put on top of pasta bake and grilled, over pizza and oven baked and on sandwiches for the kids and me. The cheese did not melt very well but having a lower fat option in cheese that still has a nice taste is what is accomplished with this brand. Kids enjoyed it and were none the wiser that it was lower in fat and calories which I love.
I really enjoyed Krafts live free cheese as it has a lot less calories than other ‘lite’ but was pleased that it was on sale, it did not melt at all well and does leave room for improvement in this area, The taste and texture did make up for it and my normally fussy kids where totally unware they were eating a light cheese. It is now our go to cheese
One thing I cant cut off my diet is cheese and I think everyone knows why. But thanks to this I still have the great same taste of cheese I can use in many of my cooking and snacking but feel guilt free. It has great variety and its easy to choose which to what I am making. Pizza has never been more guilt free. Iys a great product fir those striggling to get cheese out of their diet . Live free indeed. Yummy.
I really enjoyed Krafts livefree cheese as it has a lot less calories than other 'lite' cheeses on sale. The melting was quite minimal and does leave room for improvement, however the taste and texture did make up for it. You really can't tell the difference between Kraft live free cheese and other fattier option. I would love to see the same product but made entirely from soy!
Low fat cheeses are definitely something that appeal to me because I'm always looking for ways to reduce my intake of saturated fats. The fact that this is so low in fat is great but, for me, the product does have some limitations.
I found that it worked well in things like omelettes, quiches and on top of pastas and the like. But to be honest, it's not really a product that I would eat on a sandwich. Even so, I'm sure I'll buy it again for cooking purposes.
I was amazed at the taste of the cheese. I thought it being so extra light, I didn't think the taste would be the same. But I was wrong. We just love having toasted ham, cheese and tomato on our off vegies day, and it melted beautifully in the tomato and it was delicious. I will make sure we have more of these. xxx
I have brought Kraft Livefree cheese and think it is very tasty, what more would a person want and need,[ good for you as well ] I should have been born a mouse as I love all kinds of cheese
Hubby has been told to lower his cholesterol, so I have been trying to replace things like cheese with a low fat variety. This was the third one to try. He didn't notice the change at first, as I used it in mashed potatoes and on top of lasagna, but once I tried to use it in sandwiches, he was less than amused and thought it was awful.
I've bought this a few times now as I am trying to reduce my fat intake. My daughter and I both find it fine - we've had in it sandwiches, salads and used it in cooking. My husband can't stand it and says the packet would have more taste. My son is also not a fan asking me to get some 'real cheese'. I guess it makes a different as to whether or not you don't want the extra fat.
I need to eat low fat products and had been avoiding cheese to do this but with Kraft Livefree it was so low in fat that I could eat it and not have any adverse side effects which normal cheese gives me. I will definitely be purchasing this cheese again. The rest of the family noticed this cheese was different from their normal cheese but still enjoyed eating it.

How to choose the best lunch box for school
When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.
Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

Each comes with a mesh pocket for ice bricks, a top carry handle, a secure zip closure and enough internal space to fit a medium bento box.

The spill-proof individual compartments mean no mixing of savoury and sweet, and the 280ml double-wall thermos keeps soups and pasta hot for up to six hours!
Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:
Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
That lunchbox comparison table is handy to have. It helped me make a decision on which lunchbox to buy next for my daughter who is starting kindergarten. I needed to upgrade her lunchbox but wasn’t sure which way to go. The table helped me with my decision. I ended up going with the BBOX and have found a cheaper lunch bag from a department store that it fits in.
I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.
Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.
Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.
Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.
I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.
So so many fantastic options! We use the montii co ones for our kdis and swear by it. Its lasted 3 years so far and still standing strong, like new since the first day using it. They are so durable and i find cleaning them to be the easiest for us.
There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.
There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain
This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.
Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.
This is an extremely useful article!! 2 schppl going kids and third starting kinder soon means we are always on the lookout for lunch ideas and lunch boxes. This is a great list with features and prices listed to make the search easier and help with decision making for purchasing of the lunch boxes
This is super useful article and thank you. I can see so variety of lunch boxes from every store. Always wonder which one would be more convenient to use by little hands. I love some of these lunchboxes to give it a try for this year. And then decide to go with suitable ones
Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.
These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.
I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.
My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags
My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.
Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
