  • Mum More Maggi

I happily purchased a wide range of Maggi products after reading the reviews by the wonderful Mom’s community members on these products. I decided to test out many of the recipes on the my hungry family. Maggi has now become a firm favourite in our household. When we go shopping the request now is for “Mum, More Maggi Please”.

  • Fantastic

I found this product and have used several varieties, I have found that the flavours are good and the product is easy to use, I have used it to make my young adult males cook their own dinners when Hubby and myself have to go out, it makes them take a little responsibility and they can prepare it easily and they think that they are getting takeaway but without the expense and lack of nutrition that normally comes with takeaway, they also adjust the vegies and meat to suit themselves. so all in all it has become a panty staple in our home. By the way my extremely fussy husband even likes it.

  • Quick, Healthy & Tasty!

Love that it includes marinade the meat as well as a finishing sauce. The taste was delicious and was so easy to make! The only problem for me was I have a family who asks like ‘Manu’ “where is the sauce?!” Next time I will use two packets to ensure there is plenty of sauce.

  • BBQ PORK SENSATION

I made this recipe with some Pork Fillet and the family including kids ate every bite. Normally they would not touch a stir fry because of all the vegetables but this one they loved. The smallest one said it was a bit spicy but still ate it the same. The 2 sauces was new to me but worked out well creating some lovely sauce that went well with the accompanying rice.

  • GREAT FOR LEFT OVER PORK ROAST

I made this with some left over pork roast and how delicious and quick – love the 2 sauce combination. Instructions were very clear and I loved the bit of spicy kick it had to it. The children ate it all which was a surprise as it usually is a struggle. Now I want to try the rest of the Maggi range certainly makes meal time a lot less of a drama when you have Maggi on hand.

  • Great taste and simple to make.

This was an easy dish to make, smelled yummy while it was cooking and tasted really nice. My only disappointment was that I would have liked more sauce so that it coats the rice more. I used chicken instead of pork and this worked well. My 2 year old polished off her serving which I was thrilled about!

  • My favourite of the three, saved the best for last!

Loved loved LOVED this one! Flavours were perfect and so delicious! My husband thought it was a little too sweet for his palate but it was just right for me. Super easy to make and admittedly I used beef instead of pork because pork was just too expensive this weekend but it all worked so well together. Would definitely use this one again!

  • Not my favourite flavour

On the whole, I am a big fan of how Maggi products taste. Unfortunately, I don’t like the way Maggi Stir Fry Creations Chinese BBQ Pork tastes. I find it to be a bit on the salty side.
The kids also do not like the taste of this meal.
In saying that however, Maggi Stir Fry Creations Chinese BBQ Pork is easy and quick to use, with simple steps to follow.
I do recommend Maggi stir fry creations just not this flavour.

  • A Bit Salty

I find Maggi Stir Fry Creations Chinese BBQ Pork to be salty which means that it overpowers all other flavours in this dish.
It is super easy to make and takes hardly any time to put together.
I have tried other Maggi Stir Fry Creations and much prefer the other flavours that are available.

  • Easy with good flavour

I found this product was very easy to use and gave a great but not overpowering flavour. The whole family enjoyed this meal. I usually try and make my own sauces/marinades, but this was much quicker and really good to whip up a healthy dinner after being at work all day. I love the two stages, allowing the meat to absorb more of the flavour than just cooking with a sauce. I would use this product again and am looking forward to trying different flavours

  • not usually a pork fan

While a great lover of bacon and ham, I really must say that I am not usually one to fancy pork and will generally avoid eating it. When I do eat it I do not find myself to enjoy it. I can say with confidence that this was the only pork stir-fry that I have ever enjoyed and has opened me up to using more than chicken or beef in mine in the future. It was tasty, quick and simple and everyone cleaned their plates. Would definitely buy again

  • Not my favourite stir fry creation

I’ve tried the Maggi Stir Fry Creations Chinese BBQ Pork a few times now and It has an ok flavour but, it is not as nice as the Maggi ginger and lemongrass stir fry creation we have had previously. We made this up using beef strips instead of pork and found it seriously delicious. I served it up with some steamed rice and green beans and made a delicious midweek dinner. • Stir Fry just like takeaway, just cheaper and healthier

I bought the Maggi Stir Fry Chinese BBQ Pork to try, I got my adult sons to make it, painful to watch but they managed, it was simple to prepare and cook, they enjoyed the flavour and taste, it was obviously easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow, the comments that I got was that it was just like takeaway but we did not have to go and get it, since then they have tried others and I find it easy to keep some in the pantry and they can make it up when they want a simple meal, good product, easy simple and I think it is a good learning tool for teenagers to start cooking.

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.

  • I absolutely love the bb box quite sturdy. It took many lunch box to find one that would last. Before this lunch box we had a stuck on you. I found the stuck on you lunch box didn’t last when the hinge’s snapped they wouldn’t get back to me (only had for a short time and my youngest couldn’t open it so it wasn’t dropped. Just opened it after the 8th time and snapped). The bb box has lasted the last year and a half and still going strong
