MathsOnline :
4.56 out of 5 based on 179 reviews.

We are so excited to announce the MathsOnline review!

For the MathsOnline review, we’re asking MoM Members all over Australia to trial MathsOnline with their child or children and then share their thoughts and opinions with us.

MathsOnline makes learning maths easy and simple!

As Australia’s #1 online maths tutoring program for kids of all ages, MathsOnline makes learning maths easy and simple.

Each one of the video tutorials is taught by the internationally acclaimed teacher, Pat Murray, who is renowned for teaching math concepts in a simple, easy-to-understand way (and in only a few minutes at a time).

Even students who struggled with maths are getting fantastic results! And ones who were doing OK before are now doing brilliantly.

After twenty-four years of teaching, Pat Murray had seen too many students lose the battle against maths. So, he set out to help them. What he came up with was MathsOnline. Now, Pat’s programs are in the curriculums of more than 720 schools across Australia, and MathsOnline has helped countless students rise to the top of their class.

Students can practice what they learned as the adaptive program introduces progressively harder quizzes and worksheets.

Detailed solutions show step-by-step how to solve each problem; this way, students can see their mistakes and understand what needs to happen next time. Results and progress are saved and made available for parents, so they can check-in and see how their children are doing. They also receive weekly progress reports to monitor improvement over time.

Here’s how the MathsOnline Review will work …

In the MathsOnline Review, MoM Members with school-aged children from K-12 will trial and review. MathsOnline can be used for up to 3 of your school-aged children at any given time.

STEP 1: Lucky MoM Members who have school children from K-12 selected for this review will sign up for the MathsOnline 8-week trial using a unique code supplied by us and the team at MathsOnline.

STEP 2: MoM Members and up to 3 of their children will trial and review MathsOnline for the 8 week trial period which will take us through towards the end of Term 1 2021.

STEP 3: Throughout the trial we’ll ask MoM Members on the trial team to report in with reviews and ratings.

This review is open to thousands of MoM Members and their friends but everyone must apply via this page to receive the 8 week trial code.  SHARE THIS PAGE with everyone you know who have children in K – 12 who’d like to test and review MathsOnline!

  • Fun way to learn!

My 6 yr old loves Maths Online. The website is easy to use and follow and she loves that it can read things out to her if she’s unsure. It takes her through the problem and solution and key points to look for which really helps her to understand and work through. She finds joy in doing maths now! I love it as I can leave her to do it on her own and get on with other things around the house! Win Win!

  • Gets better every time

My twin daughters are really enjoying MathsOnline. The eldest of the twins has a hard time getting the right answers but she is determined and goes back to the video to watch so she can remember and does the questions again, the ones she got wrong and tries to get them right.
She went from a 72% Bronze Certificate to a 77% Silver Certificate in whole numbers for year 4. Very impressive I think.
It refreshes what you have learnt at school and teaches you new ways to understand maths.
For myself as a mother I think it’s a really neat way to engage children into fun and enjoyable learning.
I have already told my friends and family about MathsOnline and can’t wait for them to try it out with their kids too!

  • Twins throughly enjoyed it

My twin daughters throughly enjoyed it. It took them a little while to start the program but when they did every afternoon after school they want to go back online to tutor again. They are in year 3 and one of them struggles with maths but she’s liking the fact that there is a video to teaches you and explains what to do. And you can always go back to the video if you have forgotten what to do too.
I definitely recommending MathsOnline tutoring because it helps my children understand Maths more than they did before.

  • Maths Online Fans

We absolutely love maths online in our house. It’s so simple to navigate through and little Miss loves the sound button, so when she gets stuck reading a word, the button will read the question for her. It makes maths fun!!! So sorry for the late review. We had iPad trouble and had to wait for lockdown to finish so we could get it fixed and download Maths on Line. Super pleased we were able to try it. My kids are big fans.

  • Great for all learners

My daughter was lucky enough to try the free 8 week subscription of MathsOnline. She has a good grasp of Maths but does get a little worked up with tricky maths problems. (She would get a little upset and not want to try and work it out, if it was a hard question).
With MathsOnline you watch a quick few minutes tutorial that takes you through what you need to know. First they show you an easy problem and the solution, then they will show you a slightly harder one (and tell you what to look out for) and then they will show you the trickiest one showing you what you need to do and what to watch out for when solving these type of tricky maths problems .
It makes it sound so easy and gives the child more confidence as they already know how to work out answers to the trickier questions. They watch the tutorial (learn how to solve the problems) then they answer the selection of questions to ensure they know how to apply what they have just learnt.
I think it’s great for all children (and maybe their parents, lol) as it helps them understand how to handle each type of Maths problem, especially tricky ones, for their year level. You select which year level (eg grade 1) and then you just watch the tutorial then answer the questions and then go on to the next tutorial. There is also a revision test they can do each week or so, to see if they remember what they have learnt. I would highly recommend MathsOnline for all students.

  • My tick of Approval

My kids are back at school now and it’s good to revise and remember how to complete their math’s work. My eldest daughter has been busy with her math’s online and she finds it fun and easy to do where as my twin daughter have more of a difficult time with their math’s so this will help them a lot this term.
I like it how they can work at their own pace and go back to the video tutorial if they get stuck with a question.
It has my tick of approval.

  • Getting back into school

Sorry take two, something happened which made my review post before I was finished lol.

After one go with mathsonline we have a fan in the house. It’s quite simple to navigate and you can set the questions up so your child can have another try if they get it wrong the first time. You can choose which area of math you would like to start with eg, numeracy, decimals, addition etc.
The function I like the most though is, if they are having trouble reading the question, there is a little speaker button which will read the question to them.
It’s a great resource to have for just that little extra help when they need to, or to help them catch up if they start falling behind, without it feeling like homework or a chore. It’s fun for them. It also keeps track of their progress and shows you where they are having difficulties so you can focus more on that one area

  • Best Online Maths Program

Thank you thank you to maths online. I have tried many maths programs in the past such as ‘Mathletics,’ Mathspace and IXL but none compare to maths online. This online tutoring has helped me tremendously. I have been a maths online member for 2 years, when I do not understand something at school I simply go onto maths online and I understand it. I am in high school but would recommend to any age group. The videos are amazing and so straight forward and easy to understand. 100% recommend, it will change your perspective on maths!

  • Its great

I have 3 kids, and it went thru them all and let me know what level they were on, and ever since, we have kept encouraging the kids to be the best they can be, 1 child was way behind on his Maths, but has caught up, he is now in yr 9, and is getting B’s, Last yr he was getting D’s, the 1 child was were he was meant to be and is still doing great, and the other was so far ahead, they thought I was doing the work for her, I wasn’t she is in grade 4 but doing high school Maths, her school has been great and keep extending her, as she will get bored doing the same thing over again.

  • Very helpful for my kids during lockdown!

I used MathsOnline during the lockdown as my daughter had access to it via school. I was very impressed as as they have extensive activities and teaching material. The videos included are very easy to understand. My high school kids also used it and I used it for practising decimals and fractions for my year 4 child.

  • bad techniques.

this app made my child get very mad at it. one of the reasons is because when you get one question wrong, it just tells you the answer, not how to work it out. it also takes a large amount of your score away even if you have gotten 100% so far. this has made my child very stressed and upset. it also makes my son’s friend kind of mad because it gives him the hardest questions, but he misses one small detail and he’s lost at least 15% off his score. very unhappy with this program.

  • Good for catching children up

I am home schooling me niece and she is about two years behind in mathematics compared to her age. Trying to find out her level was difficult until I found maths online. I was able to get samples from different year levels to use to test her knowledge and find where she has missed out so I can work on catching her up. Without mathsonline I do not think I would have the chance that I do now to to make sure that she can catch up. It has the answer sheets so there is no way that the parents can mark them as correct if they are incorrect. It is a great system to use for tutoring and for homeschooling.

  • Complicated at first

I wrote a review weeks ago when we received access to the Maths Platform. I was excited for my daughter who is only 7 years old. At first, and that’s why my first review isn’t so great, i found it confusing to use, too many different sections, overwhelming almost. After now 6 weeks, we totally love it. My daughter now can use this program on her own without me sitting next to her all the time. She works independently which is such a huge thing at this age. They like to be control and have a feeling of accomplishment. So, I have come to the conclusion that this program is suitable for learners that need a little help or even just to polish of their skills. It takes a while to get the hang of this program but after a while it becomes more user friendly. Thank you for the opportunity to try this program. My child is always happy to practice her Maths now, especially because its on the Laptop and not on paper.

  • Easy to follow

After using this program for a month i can say that I am very happy about it. My son is 4.5 and trying to do some kindergarten lessons. I even surprised what it can be expect on his level-some of the things I wasn’t even thinking about explaining to him as I thought its more in advance but after short narrative lesson he picked things up. What I like the most – lessons are quite short and not boring. I wish question part where more interactive especially for small kids. Overally I am very happy with this and will recommend to others

  • Very nice

    Thank you @mouths_of_mums
For a chance of trying this program. MATHS ONLINE is quite easy to navigate and operate even for my 4.5yO. you can choose what level and which task to do. Lessons are short – but quite clear . After it you have few questions to check if you can do it by yourself.

Kindergarten lessons are easy but not sure if he will be able to do it without any proper preparation like knowing his numbers and basic reading to do his tasks.

I would prefer that to domon app rather on website as the picture is just jumping up and down when moving.

Overly I am happy with this program.

I take my grandson twice a week after school and we’ve just started this week I think we are going to really enjoy doing the maths online together. As a former primary school teacher I can really see the benefits of this program. My grandson is in kindy loves maths and he’s actually extended in maths to the year above so we can really do something he enjoys together and extend him beyond the classroom!

  • Delighted to see my son enjoying Maths!

I really loved the simplicity of this program – it was really easy to follow and I loved the time we spent together each evening completing the modules. I personally hate maths and find it really boring (I know I shouldn’t say it, but it’s true!), so I loved that this program made it easy for both of us. As he’s young and still learning to read, the speaker button is a great function, and he really enjoys the quizzes…. it feels like a game to him. As a bonus, as it’s on a screen, it’s counted as his daily ‘screen time’, so it’s win win and I don’t feel guilty when I leave him on it to tend his baby sister and dinner.

I fondly remember slow, summer afternoons with family and friends gathered around a table of delicious finger-food during my childhood – the adults chatting and laughing, the kids pretending they understood the jokes. My parents had continued their Mediterranean traditions long after settling in Australia – and the simple joy of an effortlessly elegant gathering was one of my favourites.

What I don’t remember is my parents ever being stressed about the gatherings. It all just seemed to ‘come together’. Ah, how times have changed!

There’s something about the Italian style of entertaining that’s still so alluring in our fast-paced family lives. The idea of La Dolce Vita: a sweet life surrounded by family, friends, food and minimal fuss. Which is why we’ve enlisted the help of the entertaining experts at Sandhurst to share easy tips for elegant, memorable summer get-togethers.

We also asked our community of mums to share their tried and true, easy summer entertaining ideas, and we can’t wait to share them with you!

Euro-Inspired Entertaining

Sandhurst

Before we dive into the delicious world of sumptuous, simple summer entertaining, it helps to know a little about the inspiration behind our guide. And that’s the concept of Italian entertaining – where time is taken to lovingly grow ingredients, before enjoying them with those you love.

Established in 1988, Sandhurst was born from the time-honoured traditions of generations of the family behind the brand – a proud Italian Australian family passionate about quality produce sourced from world’s best growers.

At the helm of Sandhurst are brothers Mimmo and Ray Lubrano, who live and breathe the impeccable ingredients that become the centrepiece of so many gatherings in Australian family homes.

“Tradition is what we stand for. We’re custodians of Italian values,” explained Mimmo. “When we go to Italy we see it in our grandparents, our parents came from Italy in the 50s. The tradition is a set of values: honesty, teamwork, participation, family – all the things you would associate with Italian family are the values.”

And it’s these beautiful values that make summer gatherings in Australia an extension of the European table.

Easy Summer Entertaining Starts With … Time Saving Secrets!

Sandhurst

A sweet summer of entertaining doesn’t need to be stressful. In fact, it shouldn’t be. It’s a chance to spend time with loved ones. To press pause on life and make memories. And it can be simple! So here are some really easy tips for making your home the place where everyone wants to gather this summer.

Create An Entertaining Kit

Whether it’s pre-planned or you’ve had friends or family drop-in, having a few things ready to go immediately melts away any stress. Here are some things to include in a summer entertaining kit:

  • A red table cloth: It instantly says festive!
  • Some platters and serving dishes
  • Candles
  • Some quality antipasto ingredients that simply need to be decanted and enjoyed!

Many Hands Make Light Work

As mums, we tend to be our own worst enemy when it comes to delegating tasks. But remember, a summer of entertaining is about creating memories – not perfection. So let the kids help, and accept offers from your guests who’d like to bring something along to share.

“It can be overwhelming, so just delegate, and prepare. I do one dish prep per day and pop them in the freezer. Then they just need to be heated up. Let the kids do the decorating for you – plus keeps them busy!” – MoM Member Kirsty

Decorate With Happiness

There’s no need to pull out your finest crystal to pull off an elegant get together. Take a look around your home and garden to see what will bring your table to life. A bowl of lemons is a gorgeous addition, as is a bunch of gum leaves. Keep it simple and understated.

Finger Food For The Win

Nothing says simple summer elegance more than a charcuterie board (or three!). When my friends and our families get together, it’s our go-to – every family is asked to ‘bring a board’. Some do savoury and some sweet, so we’re covered for a long afternoon of catching up.

“Food wise, I keep it simple by doing cold deli meats, cheeses, fresh fruits and veggies.” – MoM Member

But just because boards are easy to put together, doesn’t mean they can’t ooze elegance. And that comes down to including quality ingredients. Choosing Sandhurst products is the easiest way to guarantee the highest quality ends up on your table. We love the premise behind the brand: from our family to yours – it invokes that nostalgic feeling of shared stories, history, gatherings and family.

How To Put Together A Charcuterie Board

La Dolce Vita!

A summer of sophisticated entertaining doesn’t have to be hours and hours of work. We don’t want it to be! By grabbing some beautiful ingredients to fill your pantry next time you’re shopping, you’ll know that at a moment’s notice you’ll have everything you need for a Euro-inspired gathering. No fuss, but plenty of substance and style!

  • We often have homemade pizza nights aka fakeaway night! And my pizza is always on a low carb Pizza base with roasted and sundried tomato and capsicum. My fav combo with grilled chicken and a swirl of peri peri mayonnaise! Making our own is always better than takeaway versions and healthier!

  • Looked so good I couldn’t wait – Dove in off the end of my bread baton and swirled around in a couple of cheesy dips only to finish up at the Sandhurst stackers and sun-dried olives, who needs a Holiday when there is one in the kitchen, I can take any day.

  • I have been buying Sandhurst Kalamata Olives, Sandhurst Semi-Dried Tomatoes, Sandhurst Baby Capers, Sandhurst Sicilian Green Olives for years as our kitchen staple adding that extra flavours to our dishes. I buy Sandhurst products for Gift Baskets as presents for family and friends and they love this idea as I add a chopping board and a knife and crackers and cheese for a celebration of flavours.

  • I have been a purchaser of Sandhurst goods ever since they first appeared on supermarket shelves and still buy it to this day. The Sandhurst brand is the best without a doubt. This year I have not been able to find the Sandhurst cheese stuffed baby capsicums anywhere. I have tried to get on the Sandhurst site, but no luck with what they make. Help – these are such a wonderful addition to a salad.

  • I Love a good charcuterie board. I Love all the different options all on the one board. I love to do a chocolate board when we have guests over, it’s a fun way to do dessert after dinner. The kids love seeing everything layed out so they can pick and choose.

  • This is great for the grandchildren they love them as they use them as finger food and make up their own meal and use plenty of ingredients including meat and cheese on the dips and crackers. We keep it simple with the Sandhurst’s products as it is a meal in every jar and the kids love them.

  • Charcuterie boards are the absolute best! We do these so often in the warmer months because there’s something for the whole family. People pick and choose what they like and there’s no complaints because there’s so many different options to choose from, everyone is happy. It’s such a simple stressful way to make dinner.

  • I absolutely adore finger food and this style of feeding people when we have family and friends at our home; or when we go out for a picnic, bbq or get together. These types of food are so easy to source and to buy and to prepare and to happily eat.

    • Yes I agree, finger foods are easy and yummie ! And you can assemble a healthy enough plate (certainly when you add salads, cheeses, nuts, fruits, boiled eggs, olives and rustic breads) that it can certainly can replace a meal (either lunch or dinner). Everyone happy and no hours of preparation in the kitchen :)

      • Also; the other bonus is less mess to clean up when cutlery is not needed. Finger food is the best for laid back and relaxed get togethers. There is always such a clam and relaxed feel to a finger food meal without the need for any fancy and stuffy table settings.
