NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for Cats is the newest product in the NexGard SPECTRA brand family. It is Australia’s first and only all-in-one parasite product for cats, providing protection against fleas, ticks, mites, heartworm, lungworm and intestinal worms (including tapeworm).

Why do cats need parasite protection?

Cats and their natural behaviours and instincts place them at high risk of parasites. For example, roaming outdoor cats are exposed to fleas, ticks and intestinal parasite eggs and larvae shed by other pets and wildlife. Grooming behaviour can also result in the ingestion of fleas containing flea tapeworm larvae, and hunting exposes cats to roundworm, lungworm and tapeworms carried by the animals they prey upon.

Indoor cats are also at risk of parasites, with exposure possible via contact with worm eggs brought in on shoes, preying on parasite-infested pests such as rodents, slugs or snails that enter the home, or being bitten by a heartworm-infected mosquito.

    My cat Pixie absolutely hates me putting anything on her back and will run a mile and stay away from me for hours. This time she came back shortly after probably because there was no smell which others I have tried have a strong smell. The syringe was much easier to use.   • Easy to use on my fussy cat

  • NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for Cats is easier and simpler then trying to give my Tiger boy a tablet to control his fleas or worms. One convenient syringe application that he didn’t mind having despite being a cat that rarely likes to be held. Over and done in less than a minute and no need to worry. I used to be concerned about whether he actually fully swallowed his tablets or ate all the food they were hidden in. Now there is no stress or worry. Just syringe and he is covered for a month.

    NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for Cats is easy to apply, no smell, no mess either. I especially love that I don't have to wrestle my cat and get scratched to bits trying to put a tablet down his throat. One syringe application he didn’t mind or notice that I was touching him ( the master of the house). Over and done in less than a minute with no worry at all. I was hoping ( as he doesn't have fleas) it would deter this little flying insect in Tasmania that annoys him so much but it doesn't and i have tried everything.

  • Absolutely no smell!! Yay!

    If I didn’t use it, I would not have believed it had no smell that I could sense. Our cat was calm with this application, but hadn’t been with previous products!! Will be using again!!

  • This product works and easy to use!

    I like the easy application, it's non-invasive and effective. I have tested this on my fluffiest cat Tammy and now she doesn't seem to be itching as much as before. I feel relieved knowing that my cat is safe from parasites and I will be looking to buy more of these in the future!

  • Quick and easy protection

  • Fantastic parasite protection

    Having used spot on treatment for many years, this was so easy to use, had no obvious odour and my cat didn't even react to the application. A great idea using a syringe rather than the squeeze things as the product went exactly where it needed to. Definitely recommended.

    This product had no smell at all which is great as I don’t like the chemical smell of some products.

    It also will be beneficial for my fur babies as it won’t bother them.

  • I really liked the applicator

    This NexGard SPECTRA was in an excellent applicator which was easy to use and came with great instructions to make it simple.

    It took five seconds to apply.

    It had no smell at all which was a good thing.

    My Cat is horrible when it comes to putting anything on their skin. It's a game of catch me if you can. I got them on the right day because it was a breeze. They didn't run and hide afterwards, and there was no odour. I would definitely recommend this product.

  • Easy to use

    I always found it hard to apply any flea treatment on my cat. However the NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for Cats was easy. There was no smell and the applicator was easy to use. My cat didn’t feel any need to try and stop me and that is a good thing. I have noticed her scratching less and I think I’ve found my new treatment.

  • Easy to use on a fidgety cat

    I’ve got a rescue cat who is very fidgety when using any flea treatment. She is also a long hair cat.

    This went on well. She has not been distressed by any smell, and has settled quite quickly afterwards .

    I am hoping to use this again in the future, especially as we live rurally and have a few cats, this is the only cat that doesn’t go outside. Everything is brought to her!

  • Easy to use once you have the cat and syringe ready

    I have a long haired cat and getting her to remain still whilst I parted her hair to get to her skin and then having the syringe ready to go was a bit of a juggling act. I needed an extra pair of hands. Once I managed this, it was easy to apply and I love that it was odourless. And my cat was not concerned or agitated after the application as you can see in the photo. She was quite happy - very non invasive

  • Amazing!

    This product was so easy to use! My cat can be quite stubborn at times but she didn't seem fussed at all when using this. The syringe was super easy to use and made it totally mess free. The fact that it didn't have that typical smell you find with other products helped as well.

    It is so easy and quick to apply NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for Cats. My cat dislikes having any treatment applied on to her but NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for Cats was so quick it was over before she realised what was going on, such a bonus. I have 2 Cats so only 1 cat could trial this and I chose the bigger of the 2 cats because she dislikes treatment day.

    This product makes what is usually an unpleasant experience super easy. The fact that it treats for worms as well as fleas etc is just awesome. Did not notice any odour which is so good for sensitive cats noses. I will be using this product again.

  • NexGard SPECTRA - A Pleasant Smelling Surprise!

    Having used other brands of spot treatment for flea/heartworm for many years I was pleasantly surprised by the much more gentle smell of the NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On treatment.

    When opening the NexGard SPECTRA box I was a little apprehensive about the syringe applicator but it was actually really simple to use. There was still a slight odour, but not the knock yourself out chemical smell that we've experienced with other brands. So much so that my cat didn't even bother to try turning her neck and running away like she usually would! We used the product last week, and our cat's fur feels so lovely and soft this week. Plus it's great to know she's protected from so many nasties. NexGard SPECTRA is definitely a product we will use again!

    Very easy to apply. The instructions were clear and had additional information in the product box. The product had almost no odour. The kitten didn't even try to lick it off, just stayed laying down. Will definitely be using NexGard SPECTRA Spot-On for cats from now on. Very happy with this product!

    Instructions are easy to understand and follow, I didn't notice any odour whatsoever, it was easy to apply to my furbaby and she loved the extra attention while applying it.

  • Best brand for parasite control

    Great packaging, easy to use with easy instructions, no strong smells. This is my favourite brand for parasite control i am so glad they have made one for cats now. Will ofcouse be buying again on the regular, and this brand is a pretty reasonable price for how good they are.

  • Tried it before and it’s definitely one of the better companies to do surveys with. They make it so easy, the website is easy to navigate and the surveys are generally not too long. It’s easy to do whilst on the couch or filling in time! Definitely worth checking out to earn some extra cash.

  • Purkle is fun! Not a lot to earn from but if you like filling up surveys or voicing ypir opinions, it is definitely worth a try. Sometimes there are survey on music which are the most fun ones and also, these are the ones that reward the most. Not bad to earn a gift card or 2 in a year!

  • I love Purkle. While the surveys don’t award massive sums, the surveys themselves are never long. Other platforms want a minimum of 10 minutes which can be hard to commit to during day time chaos. It doesn’t take long to accumulate a decent sum, and I use gift cards as a way to treat myself. They can be redeemed for grocery gift cards. I’ve cashed out over $200 in a year and a half. Give it a go!

  • I’m not having any luck with purkle. I tried to sign up for it and it just wasn’t working so I emailed them and didn’t hear back, I just tried again now and managed to create an account but then the activation email contained no link to click and actually activate my account. From the comments here it looks like I’m not missing anything anyway

  • I’ve earnt a bit through Purkle and other survey sites. They are great passive income. I don’t mind that Purkle pays in gift cards as it provides a great opportunity for me to buy something for myself as opposed to putting cash away for expenses. But cash is always good!

  • Surveys have been great to keep me awake while feeding my newborn at night but I agree with some of the comments that the time commitment is too high for the benefit. I do not believe i will continue using it once baby starts to sleep through and get through feeds quicker.

  • I tried Purkle for approx 1 year and quite frankly it’s really not worth your time
    Very few surveys and very low amounts paid
    Worst thing is it only pays in gift cards so no cash
    I gave up and just stuck with my original survey site that I’ve been using for years
    It makes me $120 average in PayPal a week without too much effort and supplies the family with an annual holiday without touching the household budget

  • It’s a shame I’m already a member and can’t enter the competition. Surveys in general – including Purkle – can be a good way to earn some money, but just remember you won’t earn much from any one survey. It does add up over time though, and isn’t particularly difficult to do.

  • This is a nice way to earn a bit extra money but you won’t earn a lot. Some surveys time out too which is annoying or hey just stop working half way through. If you have spare time and want to do it then why not. I sometimes do these on the train on my way to work and it slowly builds up to allow you to get a reward. It all helps.

  • I joined Purkle ages ago but to be honest I have never used it and totally forgot that I joined let alone that I could be earning money and points while being at home. Any opportunity to make some money and try to help financially, off I go to rejoin I think!

  • I have joined up and hope to gain some bonuses. I realise it won’t be a lot but it’s good to know from genuine people on here that have been part of purkle that it is a real site. So many scams out there so good to know this isn’t one of them.

  • Purkle is a great surveys site. I’ve redeemed vouchers from there. You’re not going to make a fortune from it but you do definitely earn for your time. I haven’t done any for a while as I just haven’t had rhe time but I’ll definitely get back into it. The vouchers always come in handy.

  • The inner sceptic in me will prevent me signing up! I’m not against a survey, however I would rather do one here and there when I can with the incentive of winning something big! Even a $100 voucher. At the rate I win, it works out better than signing up for this.
