Rafferty is a brand I know and trust with my baby. It’s convenient when out and about, just twist and give. No worries about cleaning spoons, bowls, etc. When finished just put into bin, it’s that simple. The banana, peach, pear and milk flavour is my son’s favourite, always looking for more. One is never enough as it tastes so yummy!
We always have them stocked in the cupboard and when running low, I’ll go and buy some more. I have already recommend Rafferty’s Garden to other mums and I find them to be amazing!

I always recommend this Rafferty range to all my friends and family. My bub always enjoyed these. He usually ate the fruit ones. I also made him milkshakes adding the rafferty pack. Lol… why the bub.. we all love rafferty milk shakes… the blend is so smooth, i dont need to do any extra effort.
I would give him the veggies one with flatbread like jam… he never left any bits of the rafferty veggie wrap.
Its a lovely product for all lottle foodies out there. Thumbs up.

My baby boy enjoyed all of the calci fruit range. So convenient to take it with us to have where ever we are! I have to have extra on us as even my bigger boys like them so they are always asking for “just a taste mum” I will definitely continue using this product when our next bub comes along and is ready to move from breast to solid foods.

Prior to the introduction of Rafferty’s Calcifruit I struggled to get enough calcium into my 2 boys who don’t really like milk, and even cheese and yoghurt are a bit hit and miss! I have never had them refuse a Calcifruit though! Their little faces light up as soon as I bring them out off the cupboard!

We have been making these pouches into icy poles! We had a little bit of milk/ yoghurt/ juice to thin it down a little and freeze into icy pole moulds, healthy, full of fruit and calcium, limited sugar. My daughter loves them! She thinks they are just as good as paddle pops or other icy poles on the market. They work out a lot cheaper than store brought ones too! Highly recommend for versatility

My bub really loves ice cream, so this time i tried re-churning vanilla icecream after adding the mango flavour of the rafferty calci fruit range. Rechurned it and froze it again. when my baby ate it, he was so happy that his eyes twinkled and he loved the new flavour…otherwise i give him only vanilla yet. This range mixes with all my tried variations and icecream , by far has come out to be the best variation and twist. Love you rafferty for giving us so many options :).

My daughter loved the calci fruit range. She ate it all. Which is very rare for her. She was asking for more. When I came with the pouch the following day. She started crawling very quickly to me so I could give it to her. Normally I have to go to her and bring her to the table.

We made a mad dash out the door yesterday, threw in some clothes, bottled water, and a pouch of Rafferty’s Garden Calci Fruit. Kept Miss 3 quiet and occupied when I needed it most. I asked her to tell me what she tasted and she correctly identified the banana and mango but not the pear. She loves the taste and points them out in the supermarket for me now. While she mostly has fresh fruit, these pouches are great to keep her clean (no fruit bits or juice running down her chin or elbows) and for a bit of variety and fun.

Its been 10 continuous days that my LO is enjoying the new range. My GP said that when we give new products to bubs, we should try one product for 3 days and see if any adverse affect arises. I’ve tried all the 3 versions in the past ten days…3 days each. No adverse affects on my baby. He’s happy and loves Rafferty.

I have bought these many times throughout the early years of both of my children. I can rest in the knowledge that they are getting a healthy dose of their fruit intake, as well as exposure to fruits that I may not normally buy (fig) in wholesome combinations. The addition of calcium is also great for their growing bones. I’d recommend.

We love the Raffertys Garden range. Especially the calci fruits. Even with our son at 18 months of age we find they’re still a great option to have handy for snacks on the go. Perfect for when traveling and you don’t know what food would be available along the way. Or if you need to stop for a snack when there’s nothing around!

My now 9 month old has been eating these for breakfast, lunch and dessert since 8 months. She absolutely LOVES them, she can never get enough and loves every single flavour! I will recommend one change! Bigger packaging! I’m sure my little girl isn’t the only baby that eats a lot. Other than that, perfect and will continue to recommend to friends and family!!

My little man is an absolute fruit bat. He lives all kinds of fruit, unfortunately it always results in a huge mess that usually requires an immediate bath afterwards. I keep these pouches on hand for when we are out and about. The flavors are the same and there’s no bad additives to make me worry and more importantly and means my son can always have a healthy snack, just without the mess when we aren’t at home.

I bought these for bubs not long after he started solids. To be honest when I bought these ones with calcium I did not realise at the time that they actually contained calcium, so I guess this was not important to me but an added bonus. Though I do wonder as to the necessity of including calcium. They come in a great range of flavours. My bubs preferred the fruit options.

Rafferty’s Garden Calci Fruit Range are convenient and healthy for bub. I wondered how it would go when I looked after my baby nephew. He just loved the Peach, Banana, Pear and Milk. It’s nice to think I’m making sure he is also getting the calcium he needs to keep his little bones healthy.

Me and my bub love the rafferty’s range of squeezie packets. They are both healthy and nutritious, and now with added calcium, I just know that my bubs is getting an advanced start to solids. As a bonus, bubs also seems to like the flavour and he has access to fruits that are not so prevalent – e.g., fig, that I probably wouldn’t normally buy.

Rafferty's Garden needs to GROW their packet sizes!
Rafferty’s Garden products are absolutely amazing! My 2 year old loves the taste and texture of these products and has grown up on them. When the Calci Fruit Range was released, my daughter couldn’t get enough of these. She would suck down a packet and ask for more! I’ve had to be careful about how much sugar she consumes in one of these, even if they are natural sugars.
Sugar aside, I would be very interested in a larger tub of the Calci Fruit Range. So that I can pop it into reusable packets for daycare and lunches out on the town.

I babysit a little one occasionally. She is THE poster child for fussy eaters. I have on the odd occasion been reduced to snapping rice bubbles in half and peeling peas…. today her Mum dropped her off with the peach and banana flavoured sachet. I looked at her in disbelief. No way was her child going to eat this. She smiled, said “try it” and left. Come lunch time and I am quaking in my boots. Ready for a meltdown from hell. With some trepidation I held out the pack. Bang – she grabbed it – slurp slurp and it was gone… I still am having trouble beleiving it!

I have bought this product for my little Grandie. She wasn’t overly fussed on this product. I think it is because she is still finding her taste buds. She has eaten other Rafferty’s Garden products and sucks them right out of the packaging. Sucks it dry. LOL. This type of packaging is so handy and easy to pop into your bag when heading out. No bowls or cutlery needed. Makes you wonder how we managed 30 odd years ago.

My 8 month son loves the Calci-Fruit range. His favourite being the Banana Fig Apple and Milk. And I love them as well. Not only do they get their serves of fruit/veges but they also get their calcium needs met as well. I would recommend these to all of my mummy friends

But unfortunately he didn’t. 🙁 I thought, with the extra calcium, it’d be so great for his developing teeth and bones, but he just didn’t like it. It doesn’t seem to matter which one I bought, he won’t eat them. Which is odd, because he loves the other products in the Rafferty’s Garden range. Just not this. My nephew, on the other hand, absolutely smashed the leftover packs I bought. He seemed to think they were the bee’s knees. So I suppose it’s just a personal thing, as most things are. I do have to recommend this product, as I have seen many kids enjoying them, just because mine doesn’t personally, doesn’t make this any less of a great product. Keep it up!

How to choose the best lunch box for school
When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.
Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

Finally, a kids’ lunch box that stores hot AND cold food in one place! Designed out of necessity by a problem-solving mum, the OmieBox encourages low-waste lunches and ends the need to use multiple clunky containers (which always get lost!). The spill-proof individual compartments mean no mixing of savoury and sweet, and the 280ml double-wall thermos keeps soups and pasta hot for up to six hours!
Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:
Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.
Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.
Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.
Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.
I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.
So so many fantastic options! We use the montii co ones for our kdis and swear by it. Its lasted 3 years so far and still standing strong, like new since the first day using it. They are so durable and i find cleaning them to be the easiest for us.
There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.
There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain
This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.
Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.
This is an extremely useful article!! 2 schppl going kids and third starting kinder soon means we are always on the lookout for lunch ideas and lunch boxes. This is a great list with features and prices listed to make the search easier and help with decision making for purchasing of the lunch boxes
This is super useful article and thank you. I can see so variety of lunch boxes from every store. Always wonder which one would be more convenient to use by little hands. I love some of these lunchboxes to give it a try for this year. And then decide to go with suitable ones
Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.
These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.
I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.
My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags
My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.
Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
I absolutely love the bb box quite sturdy. It took many lunch box to find one that would last. Before this lunch box we had a stuck on you. I found the stuck on you lunch box didn’t last when the hinge’s snapped they wouldn’t get back to me (only had for a short time and my youngest couldn’t open it so it wasn’t dropped. Just opened it after the 8th time and snapped). The bb box has lasted the last year and a half and still going strong
