A Melbourne community is mourning the death of a young mum who died during childbirth.
Rebecca Sargeant, of Chelsea in Melbourne’s bayside, was due to give birth to a little girl named Peyton when she sadly died on July 20.
A GoFundMe page has also been created to offer support to Mr Foster and his children.
The page created by a family member shares, “My sister Donna tragically lost her beautiful daughter Rebecca and grand daughter Peyton during child birth.
“Rebecca leaves behind her partner Dale and her wonderful little son Jax. Dale will now become sole parent to Jax and give up work to take care of their son who is 15 months old.
“We would love any support you could possibly give to help Dale. This is going to be a very hard journey for Dale and little Jax and any support would be truly appreciated.”
There was an outpouring of grief after news of Ms Sargent’s death.
“This is heartbreaking, my thoughts are with Bec’s family and friends,” one woman wrote.
“I honestly can not imagine the pain and heartbreak Dale and his family are suffering. Sending a lot of love, from a local stranger x”
“We only hope that our small contribution helps in some way. Our love and thoughts are with the whole family.”
Others added the news was “incredibly sad” and “devastating”.
It has been reported complications during the birth lead to their deaths.
Ms Sargeant also left behind four step-children ‘that she loved like they were her own’.
Over $20,000 has been raised for the family so far. You too can support them HERE.
Our thoughts are with the family at this terrible time. x
