A mum calls her baby son “ugly” on Facebook, leading to massive online backlash.

US mum, Quaylaa An,  was streaming a video to Facebook Live after returning from a local water park when she began talking about her baby boy’s appearance.

Boldly stating that her baby looked “wrong,” she explained in the video that her “biggest fear” as a mother was that she would have an ugly child.

“No look what the f—k I got,” she told the camera, and compared her son to a monster in the film Alien Vs Predator.

She then claimed that her son attracted stares and comments over his looks, saying that she’s waiting for his “looks to come in.”

“I just knew that it was going to be a fifty-fifty chance that one of these kids was going to come out ugly… because of him,” Ms Ann added.

The mum insisted she didn’t want to call her baby “ugly” but he was FUNNY looking.

The video soon divided opinions leading to a heated debate on her Facebook page as friends and critics defended and blasted her in equal measure.

Plenty of commenters slammed the mum for being so openly disdainful of her newborn son’s looks, some branding her “vile” and saying she was out of line.

“People do anything for likes and laughs, that s–t is not funny,” one comment read.

Others insisted that her son was in fact cute, adding that she shouldn’t be so focused on how her child looks.

In a recent Instagram post Quayla shared, “I may have said you funny looking but I know for a fact you’re gonna grow up to be a very handsome young Gentlemen ❤️ I love you and your siblings don’t let the media tell you otherwise mama 10 toes down behind y’all.”

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the saying goes.

  • Geez, I can’t believe the things people say on their social media!!!

  • Hopefully she will have learned by her actions. Every baby is beautiful!

  • I don’t see any problem with his looks! How mean.

  • He’s not ugly. His only problem is his mother.

  • His Mother called him both ugly and funny. He appears to have an eye problem but he is not ugly.

  • I wonder if she realises that what she said will always be out there and her son will find out when he gets older. I hope she didn’t mean it the way it sounded. I think he’s a beautiful boy

    • It is peculiar – people are judged ‘ugly’ by their actions and words and not ‘looks’.
I just see a beautiful baby.

  • Definitely in the wrong, poor kid to have a mother like that

  • Seriously? She did and said that? What hope does this poor child have growing up?

  • I think he is a cutie and she should be ashamed of herself, she is not fit to be a mother.

  • That’s awful! She doesn’t deserve him he’s beautiful.

  • Hopefully this has given her reason to think before she speaks, especially in the public eye. The bub is adorable.

  • This is such a sad story, maybe she was doing it just to get attention, I feel so sorry for this child, what you post online stays online forever and one day he will find out how cruel his mum was.

  • Some people shouldn’t be parents

  • He just looked like her. He is too young to be judged in that way. But its a fact that I saw many mums shaming their own kids because f how they look and even many compare the kids with their other siblings in terms of looks. Its sad but its nothing new.

  • I find this so sad and quite shocking.
    Poor child!

  • People can post as they wish bout the kids but also need to be prepared for the back lash from people reading it.

  • I’m sure she loves her baby to the moon and back. Who cares if she thinks he looks like an alien? lol Most babies do

    Reply

  • Oh poor bub. its very sad!

  • I feel she said it more for something to say and get a response, than actually meaning it … she should think twice though because this is not funny and, honestly, what kind of reaction did she expect!?
