Thankyou everyone. I am due the 23rd of April. The hospital I am hopefully going to deliver at will supply minimal stuff… I am reasonably happy with what I have packed considering I am likely to be in for 2 to 3 days at least.

i packed like crazy with my first and found that i didn’t use much! the hospital that i had my kids in, dressed them in a brand new onesie and beanie. we didn’t give 2/3 kids a bath at the hospital so didn’t need bath stuff. they supplied that anyway. they give you cloths nappies. i brought my own nappies though to use instead. they just told me to save my stuff lol. they were really kind to me but i had one nurse that was rude.

When are you due??? Success. I wish you a wonderful birth experience!!

A warm little beanie is a good idea.

I remember being so worried I wouldn’t have everything I needed when I was packing my bag for my first bub. In the end hubby had to make a few visits to the shops to get some items but all in all bub doesn’t need much. I would just make sure you have enough outfits to last your stay (singlet and suits) plus a couple of extra so if you are expecting to be there 2 nights take 4 outfits, 3 nights take 5 outfits etc. I have actually just finished packing my hospital bags for bub number 2 and it looks very similar to your list so I think you should have everything you need!     I am due mid March… so maybe packing a little bit early but I like to be prepared! I have an almost 2 year old at home as well.

    Hi, I thought I’d check in and see how you are going! The countdown is well and truly on. Hope you are well!

I’m not sure I can add anything interesting to your list, except maybe a hat for the child. My daughter used it a lot when she was just born, but I know a lot of mums don’t really like that.
I wish you all the best while in hospital!! How wonderful to be able to finally meet your baby. Congratulations!!

There are so very many things that are possible to purchase – your list looks pretty comprehensive. Don’t worry and don’t try to be perfect and 100% prepared as that is quite simply not possible. Having things in place at home for when you return home is also a good idea (including food and supplies for you!!). Also don’t forget that things can be ordered from supermarkets online and neighbours, friends and family are more than willing to help too! Enjoy your new family member.
