I think society has definitely lost that feeling of community where all the neighbours know each other. We know the lady on one side of us well but not the family on the other side.

That’s lovely. It’s nice to know people appreciate the sounds of children playing.

I think it makes life so much easier and more relaxed when you get on with your neighbours.

I think that’s a lovely story, it’s nice to know that it brightens her day to hear your girls playing. Isn’t it a terrible world we live in though because if it was an old man you would probably be more cautious and a little concerned.

  I agree. I hate to admit but I would probably be one of those people who would freak out if it was a male that lived behind me and knowing my children’s name. I would automatically think his a pervert or a potential rapist and be extremely cautious of children’s wearabouts when playing in the backyard. It really is sad that some of us feel and think this way myself included

    It’s such a shame too as older men must get so lonely and would have so much to contribute to the lives of little children but we just block them out of our lives because of fear.

That’s one of the best neighbour stories I’ve read 🙂
