Hello!

My mother in law passed from cancer nearly 10 years ago. The first sign she had cancer was when she slipped at work and developed a sore groin. When it didn’t fix, she went to the Dr. It was non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. No my hubby has a sore groin, had it for a couple of weeks, so I’m stressing. Can’t get into see Dr til 23rd Oct. can anyone put my mind at ease and suggest other things it could be other then cancer?

  • His groin pain disappeared before Dr appointment. He needs a knee replacement in the not too distant future tho, which is better the cancer

  • A pulled muscle, or a bump he wasn’t aware of at the time, or a simple groin strain. Good to get it checked, though.

  • Did the injury come up after playing sport or a fall or something? could it be a torn ligament or something. Is a specialist doctor that you are on the list to see? If it is i would suggest ringing them and letting them know that you are happy to be on a stand by list in case they have cancellations you might get a phone call that morning telling you they have a free spot. If its a normal doctor you are waiting to see i would suggest ringing around your local clinics and asking them if they bulk bill to medicare at all as you are unable to afford the full fee. .

  • Don’t have the money for a walk in Dr visit. I know how horrible that sounds, but there’s nothing we can do about it

    • Walk in Centres should bulk bill.

      • I agree. A bulk billing centre would be a great idea, at least until you can get to your regular Dr.

  • Maybe try to get into a Dr at a walk in centre or community centre to try at put your mind at ease.
