Hello!

I was clothes shopping in a small boutique the other day. I had chosen a couple of tops that I wanted to try on. I entered their small change room and closed the curtain. I had tried on the first top, was topless while grabbing the second top. Next thing I know, the curtain slides open a fraction and one of the sakes assistants sticks her head in. “Are you ok? Do you need any help?” She asks. “No thanks, I’m right,” I quickly reply. Off she goes. Only to repeat her actions when I’m in the middle of trying on another top. I noticed that her pulling the curtain back showed me to whoever else was in the store. I was horrified! Safe to say I’ll never shop there again. I’ve never experienced this before.

  • That’s just not on! If it was in a secluded spot of the store so no one could see in, not so bad. But not where people in the shop can see you

  • I would make a comment to the manager as she probably does this to other customers.

  • Also, this experience appears to have upset you and maybe you could discuss it with the manager?

  • It never happened to me. I would be quite upset!! If there is a sale assistant, she asks me if I need help, but she is behind the curtains. I’m sorry for the experience!!

  • Sales staff often do this to combat possible shoplifting. But, it can be vexing for sure! I make it very clear when I go into a change room, that I do not need help and will call out if I need it, I find by making it clear before going into a change room that I am left in peace to try on clothes.
