Hello!

I’m constantly being asked to make birthday cakes and have always tried to out do myself. i’ve never attempted a christening/naming ceremony cake before. as the family is not very religious i’m wondering what is acceptable and not too creepy/over the top? should i go with simple and elegant (white with flowers) or babies in dresses? i found one image with a baby inside a flower on top of the cake. it was so stunning but as i said i’m trying my best not to go over the top and all the mum has said is “i’m happy with whatever you come up with” any advice would be great.

  • Keep it simple is the way I’d go.

  • Simple is best for a christening, white, blue, pink or yellow icing and minimal decoration.

  • thank you :) going to go with pink and purple flowers as it is her theme colours but white square cake :) keeping it simple

  • absolutley keep it simple – white with flowers, or just simple outlines of teddies or dolls. Over the top is NOT a good idea for a christening!
